Raffles!

Now it is no surprise that I don't often go to the trade server, however, when I was there Gold Team informed me of an interesting practice he does there on occasion: Hold raffles.

Thusly, I created a mod for this to assuage anyone's doubts to his or any admin's credibility in the raffle.

Furthermore, admins running raffles on the trade server will be sure to make an announcement to that effect a little bit ahead of time.

I just tested out the raffle and it was perfect. Thanks nuclear for the script, but what will stop anyone from adding themselves to the raffle? Do only admins have the privilege of the "raffle_assign" command?

That's probably how it's set up. Also cool, I have about 5 crates I could donate to the cause.

Benny, do you want to pool our crates together and use them as part of a giveaway? The last 99 cent item that I got for a 2.49 key was the last one Valve will ever sucker me into.

I personally don't want to buy anymore valvebucks. I am fine with the fact that I spent $10 on keys but I'd rather not spend more. I guess I could trade my crates but I think it would be neater if I just contributed. So yeah, sounds great.

You are correct. Only admins have the ability to add people to the raffle.

I am thinking for the next version I might have it auto-detect trades... But that would probably be too much.

Ran a few raffles based on interest after testing it tonight.

One should probably use the vote command to see if people want to hold a raffle, though:

Could it be possible to add a command to the raffle plug-in that would pick one person out of the entire server instead of having to manually insert the names? It would be beneficial for admins' wanted to hold a giveaway that all people in the server would be participating in.

The way I had been running mine was a limit of 8 persons per raffle.

You can also add them all at once now:

Can we use this same command to give away crap we don't want in the regular servers?
