Donor benefit ideas.

We're always looking for new ideas. Donor benefits are very helpful, as they keep the bills paid.
Have you seen something on another server you'd like added here?
Have a simple idea?
Spill it!

Keep in mind any benefits we introduce would have to be non-game changing. We do not give an advantage to anyone who plays on our servers. Even our reserved slot system ensures no one is every booted.

Here is a current list of benefits:
Custom chat for donors
End round immunity. (you don't die when you lose.) <--- this is being reworked or should I say enhanced.
Reserved slot. (More the ability to join +24 players through console.)
Custom kill cam message. Typing !MSG (your message here.) you can create text that will show up in your opponents death cam.
Ability to bypass class limits ( Currently being tested only on SB1.)
Special name + privs on the website. (Here obviously.)


If you have seen something elsewhere, please post the server IP so we can scope it out.
If you have an idea. Please be sane about it.

Lotus clan had a benifit where a donator will be able to wear any hat of their liking.
I'll edit in a ip when I get home, but idk if they do it anymore.
And I can't check cause i might be banned -_- I think I got the unban though

FYI: I wasn't banned for a bad reason, the leader just raged cause someothers and I planned out a mass quit of around half the members of lotus. From there that group became the fallen, then the quties, and fianlly Benny brought us all to CSn

The hat thing isn't an option anymore. We had that back at 2 fingers. Short story Valve will remove the ability to attach items to players if we use valve hats. And downloading content, IE custom hats, may turn people off from the server.

I've seen this in CSS, so I don't know if it can be done in TF2, but what about custom kill sounds? Like the kill messages only a sound clip?

Back in TFGN this seemed to be shunned. Firstly, it adds some downloads which are disliked, but more importantly there are a lot of people who get annoyed by the sounds. I don't think that would be a very viable option, personally.

I went to this one server and at the end of the round there was a sign above donators heads that said that they were donators it was really cool

The following abilities should be possible, maybe with a cool down associated so the donor can't spam the ability

The ability to remove (offensive) sprays

The ability to trigger a team scramble vote (already present, I think)
The ability to trigger an rtv vote (like the scramble vote, force everyone to vote yes or no)
The ability to trigger a mute vote

Maybe have their votes count as 2 for map selection?

this is what lotus does as well
this plus what we have now seems nice.

This I like. It sucks being in the server with a bunch of randoms/non-community members/fingerman and being stuck on Goldrush, Dustbowl, Upward and Badwater for HOURS!

Yeah, I've actually been wondering if we could somehow require every other map to be not payload. While the payload maps are good it's nice to see some variety. One thing that might be nice would be if the default options would only select from maps of game modes that the current map is not. For instance, if currently playing on Badwater, unless someone nominates Goldrush, Hoodoo, or Upward they will not appear in the list of maps to vote on.

Well if we wanted to do that then we should take off the payload maps from the first voting option. I personally think it works well and most people like it. Of course, regulars are going to get sick of playing the same maps over and over again, but I think in terms of popular maps it works well to have the compromise between a 24/7 payload map and a random cycle.

I think I will scream in joy over 24/7 Payload. (favorite part about Slayboxes)

And I agree with Amp. !radio sounds cool. Thinking about implementing it into the CS:S server.

Double counted votes for the next map is a really nice idea. Gives the people who play here the most more say.

Replace all particle effects (fire, medic's healing beam, explosions, bullets, unusual hat effects) with sandviches when they come from or effect a donator.

maybe if there was a way to let them have something like a special particle effect of such to show theyre a donator on server, such as community weps do, like a gleam on their hat or a sandvich orbiting them. if we could get someone who knows how to do that do such :3
