So snow fell. Winter is coming.

Reports that regions in northern MN (two harbors, near duluth) received 22" of snow. Twin Cities area 6-12".

Bring out the holiday decorations and turn on the Christmas music!

Here's a pic I just took at 10:45am today April 19th 2013

I'm in New York and it's been a little chilly but humid, and earlier in the week it was 60-70 out. Yay tshirts! (FINALLY)

Kids here would love that! Only schools that closed were up north where they got 1-2 feet of snow. Everyone else was just delayed 2 hours.

I can attest to that, as I'm in Asheboro.

My friend in Boulder, Colo. just got hammered with a few feet of snow two days ago and it's already back up to 70 there. It's an odd place.

If we enter another ice age, than the climate has shifted.

Nonetheless, global climate change is caused by global warming, but doesn't necessarily lead to it. Global warming refers to the entire Earth + atmosphere containing more thermal energy than it did previously, but says nothing as to whether or not it is evenly distributed; in fact it is not. One of the expectations of climate change is that "extreme" weather is more likely to happen. Large snow storms in April, multiple category 5 hurricanes in August, and temperatures 40 degrees below average for weeks in December all fall under that umbrella.

Finally, it's very inappropriate to take a single weather event as evidence for or against something climate-related. Climate is basically the trends of a region's weather system over the course of 30+ years.

I'm free to discuss climate change further with anybody interested. I'm an environmental engineer who wrote his thesis on something relating to climate change so I'm fairly well-versed on the topic.

Put up those holiday lights because we've got another snowstorm coming! They're predicting another 6-10" of snow in the Minneapolis and St. Paul metro area this afternoon and tonight.

I really hate Minnesota right now. Winona hasn't gotten any snow and it's 40 degrees in the afternoon at the end of April. We're about to miss Spring and go straight into Summer.

Anyone looking for an indentured servant? Preferably Colorado/Washington/California/Florida. In that order. Texas need not apply.
