tech support me.

Talk about random stuff that has nothing to do with TF2 or other games.

tech support me.

OK so I got busy and stopped playing TF2 for about a month.
Come back. Seriously long load times, and random shuddering.

No virus
Not an old comp (I5 with 5770 and 12 gb of ram)
all updated, no out of date drivers ect.
Other games like CS:GO play fine load fine ect.
Anti-virus ignores Steam entirely.
checked my printer cable.
Also no dust. My comp is dust free.
No heat issues either.

Anyone?

Try deleting your tf folder in the Steam folder. It automatically reinstalls when you start up TF2, and when I did it, it made my game SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much faster. Booting problems disappeared for the most part, crashing happened way less, etc. Check yours, I'm pretty sure by default it's around 2 gigs or so (mine was at 6 when I deleted it).
But if you use custom huds, you're gonna have to reinstall that. Shouldn't be a big deal though.
ALSO WELCOME BAAACK I'VE MISSED YOU

Verify cache before deleting tf2 files, since it could save time.

Thanks finger. I checked that already. (added it to my list.) My cache is fine. Was thinking maybe the GCF needs to be defragged. May just delete it and let that file download again. Was also thinking about deleting TF2 and every game I haven't touched, well in years. Defragging, then installing tf2 again. That's a lot of time though.
