Here's the way I see it:
Let's use Nancy Grace as an example. Do you think that Nancy was really upset when Casey Anthony was declared not guilty? Of course not. It was her pristine chance to spout her "outrage", her moment to gain publicity. And it worked! She became popular for her "outrage" regarding the Casey Anthony trial but, really, she couldn't care less if Anthony actually did kill her child or not.
The same thing applies for all these political pundits, radio and talk show hosts. People like Bill O'Reilly, Glenn Beck, Rush LimBAAAAAWgh, and MAnn Coulter would probably prefer that Obama gets a second term in office, that abortion gets legalized and gay marriage is allowed. That way, whatever they spout will be more controversial and, ultimately, they will receive more media attention.
But I think we need to have people like Bill O'Reilly around, as a necessary evil. He's a good example why fundamental political dogmas for Republicans and Democrats should not be allowed to breathe in America.
