Republicans are no longer even hiding their bullshit

by Maringue » Tue Oct 25, 2011 1:01 pm

Karl Rove sent out a memo explaining to other Republicans how to negatively spin programs that 60-75% of Americans are in favor of implementing. They don't give two shits about improving the country, they just want to make their lives better. http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2011/10/karl_roves_blueprint_for_stopp.html

"Similarly, 70% of respondents initially favor Obama’s proposal to “give billions to states to stop layoffs of teachers and firefighters.” But when the same idea is described as “giv[ing] billions to states to keep government union workers on the payroll,” 52% turn against the idea."

Yeah, fuck all those teachers and firefighters. Being in a union must mean that they are evil. Don't forget about the police unions either.

What, you don't think democrats spin, lie, and steal either? Both major political parties are playing the same system using relatively similar methods; they just have different pocket sources of funding and different "official stances".

Well while I believe both Republicans and Democrats are both full of shit...

I never knew Republicans even tried to hide thier lack of wit, religious grandstanding, general disregard to anyone that doesn't have a money fountain in thier front yard, and generally used these points... as thier strong points.

I am upset with Democrats... but I will never vote for a republican if all they have to offer is flip-floppin, side talking, bible nuts.
I just laughed, I remember that Kerry Democrat dude that one year, doing and saying anything to get votes and looking very desperate and like a side talking, flip flopping ass. You might go LOLWUT... but that dude made me vote for Bush... at least I knew what kinda of shit I was getting into for another 4 years.

Republicans and Democrats have had no credibility since, say, FDR.

Considering that Bachmann, Perry, and Romney are religious wackos and Cain is an asshole who is completely disconnected with the lower classes...

Democrats are just the lesser evil most of the time.

I'm less pro-Democrat than I am anti-Republican at this point.

I'm glad Jobs went out and sent it, the "news" station is horrible.

Makes sense. Except not playing 2 party politics when it matters. Take 2000, the Green party ruined Florida, we got Bush. Did the same thing in 2004 in Iowa. Also remember local parties are very different from national ones. Karl Rove puts 100s of neo-cons in local positions. Then they put "white power" fodder on the ballot. Or how Rahm Emmanuel (my mayor) was shit talking about democrats/liberals/ect. "Where are they going to go come election time?" To the fucking couch.

I'm all for 3rd parties. But say this 2012 race. Not the time. The lesser of 2 evils is important. Or should I say the lesser of 2 corporate chronies. We can't get anything done. Not a single legitimate bill will pass until after 2012. And if you go 3rd party, not only are you wasting a vote. But will probably hand over the election to Mitt Romney.

And Herman Cain will never be the republican nominee. Think of him like Eddy Murphy in Trading Places. Karl Rove and Dick Armey got together somewhere and bet a dollar that they could make a black guy a real republican contender. Then at the very end. They pull the rug out from under him.

It is sad that this country is a two part election all the time.
Someone said on the radio that we are not the true USA that we started out as anymore, because of this two party system.
I would love if a third party had enough momentum to win, as long as it wasn't a bad party.
I dont trust socialism enough, but Im a big fan of isolationism and giving the world the middle finger and going back to USA made products.
I love you all out there in Europe and everywhere else, but the USA doesn't need to be the worlds babysitter, we need to focus on our problems.

Unfortunately our economy is now permanently linked to the rest of the world, so isolationism is no longer a viable option, not that it ever really was.

Secondly, if we had to buy every single product we consume from the US, prices would skyrocket and the bottom 50% of people in the economy would be below the poverty line.
