Counter Strike Source server?

Noting CS:GO's eventual release. And some stagnant tf2 servers on our list.
What would you all think to a CS:S server?

I know both me and Fingerman are looking forward to CS:GO's release. Currently our main Steam group ranks CS:S as the 4th most played. So I don't think we'd have too much trouble popping the server. I think this would also help eventually recruiting CS regulars and admins.


Thoughts?
Should we do a non-critsandvich poll of players to see if there is interest?

I can have a server up in about 15 minutes, I installed it a long time ago on my server. I used to play it a lot.

A lot of people did try to play on the one I had set up months back, but stopped caring since I have bad bandwidth and can't hold a lot of people. That said, just start one up now. It's apparent that a lot of people on CSn play CS:S.

We can easily do similar mods. Thankfully staying on the Steam platform, TF2 mods will fit right in.
I'd say kill the d-ball server and match server. Launch 'er up.

definitely sounds like a good plan to me. i used to be real big into the CSS competitive scene, dabbled abit in cevo-p. id be game to get my ass kicked some on there!

what about some of the custom maps, like the zombie ones or even maybe some gun game?

For sure, I started playing again recently and it's mostly Zombie mod/gungame or 24/7 all one map
