ok so im really noob at this shit straight from the start, if anyone is a pro already with the tf2 replay i can definitely use some editing pointers went into the first server i found that actually ALLOWS replays and replayed the first shot i got in hd first question is there a way to take numerous takes and edit them together from different replays
EDIT: and please feel free to post ur replay videos so i can see some different styles and get a feel for how this shit works, ill post my other shitty ones that nobody cares about, but i just think this can be a cool little addiction to tf2 so im trying to understand how it works.
Heres a clip I got earlier today once they got the replay working on Critsandvich.
1st, take your full clip and set your in and out point
A in and out point basically just tell the clip when to start, and when to end. Heres what I had after I set my in and out points
Raw clip after in and out point
After that, I set the camera to "free" which can be done in the bottom right, I also set the speed a little slower than normal. I did this so the shot would flow smoother. Its also a good idea to off set whatever you want people to see, never have the action directly in the middle of the screen. This may take a few tries to get right
After messing with the free camera mode
You may have noticed how at this point below, the camera moved up freely, you can do this by hitting Z to move up, and X to move down with out having to look up or down.
After that theres little more that can be done to a clip at the moment with the in game editor, so I converted the .Mov file to a .AVI so I could edit in movie maker. Then I did basically the same thing I would do in a normal Roflvich or highlight video
I'm sad because I had a great replay and I edited it but for some reason the editing didnt work so I deleted the edited version and it deleted both the original and the edited =( 13 straight headshots in 1:24.
I always pray to God that I can get a good replay. Lag on Funbox messes me up. I did get two replays that I'm happy with for my first time doing this. I'll probably mess with the editor some more and see what I can do with them in Premiere Pro.

Damn, yeah I did that too. The commands take a bit of getting used to, it seems.

Within the game, no. The only way to get multiple takes together to is by using an external editing program. Most people here use Movie Maker because of its simplicity. Easy to use, not too complex. I personally can't stand the fucking thing, but I can't shell out the money for a hobby. So, I found a SOMEWHAT professional quality editor called Lightworks. Easy to use with a couple tutorials. Good tutorial series here. After that, all you need to do is render the takes you want from TF2, them import them into your editing program of choice and cut that shit together. Presto.
