I will usually just tell them that there is no rule against killing, because we have the Pacifist mod for a reason, if they want to be "Friendly" then they should vote for that.

They do this because they can barely fight back without massing heavies or what-not.
Dancing the night away, and then when I get bored, I go and play tfdb_float at the love nest... Again

Also the age of the friendlies are most likely 15 and under.
So I don't pay much attention if they are constantly whining.

Especially the ones that yell out "I am friendly" just to start killing.

Eh, if you ask me, I think the friendly stuff should be saved for Pacifist mode, but that's just my opinion.

I agree, I'm not against people doing it but theres only so much doing nothing I can take before it gets boring. As NINJA said most of the people who bitch about being killed are like 12 anyway. One player comes to mind, says he's friendly then kills everyone around him then complains about getting shot at after. "I was only killing that one guy, don't attack me!" and this player wonders why we don't take him seriously. Anyway I don't think anything needs to be done about them, as its not causing any problems really. Its just people complaining to complain like normal. What I find generally happens with these people anyway is they just stop attacking for a few seconds if that to act friendly around their friend, then turn around and attack the next person that runs past them who thought they were friendly. Another note is the same people who complain about being killed also find pacifist mode to be boring which doesn't really make since, to me at least.

If that's the case, why do we still have Pacifist mode now? That was something they want, and yet they hate to play it. It does make no sense.

Almost every mod server I've been on has these people :/

Why can't they go to an actual non-serious server? Sometimes its fun to go on those and goof around with your friends, but not in a mod server.

Some servers have tried to control this, one I used to frequent had just a autokill if you crouched for too long as heavy, and recently another made their sandviches thrown deal damage to survivors in zombie fortress.

However, both of those arn't really working out...

Agreed, I have the most fun watching the people whine about the class restrictions.
They whine they couldn't be scout.
Now, since its been lifted, they whine there are too many.

Everyone will still whine even if you remove pacifist.

This is true. But seriously, and I know this will look blunt, but you just can't please them, no matter what you do.

The simple solution, is to mute them in your game.
Its what I do mostly then they don't bother you.

The problem I see here is that people do not vote for the pacifist maps. Although there may be the occasional one or two votes for pacifist, the majority of the love nest does not. Although it would be rather difficult, I suggest that there be a friendly zone in each fun map. This would be the only way to stop the 12 year kids screaming "I'M FRIENDLYYYYY WHHYYY DID YOU KI*LLLL ME!YFSAGVPISDV" spam :P

Well we've thought of a way to make pacifist mode more relevant. Basically we're taking out all the maps that don't have mini games or something to occupy players. For example maps like mario Kart will only be on pacifist. Maps like that don't make since on fun maps because generally the large majority of people want to play the mini games on that map. I'm also going to see if we cant add the new trade server map to pacifist mode. Its basically a huge maze with extras.

As for the "friendly zone" idea when a admin isn't around it falls flat. People also start taking shit into their own hands which causes problems as well. A incident with the player Xirce is a good example where he was basically yelling at everyone for capping/killing, he got very out of hand. Another note is this player was building the friendly zone on the point. To add tracking down a report of a player who was killing in the friendly zone simply isn't realistic. Like you said. most the people who complain about this are 12 and most of them overreact to everything.

I still think it's weird to bitch and moan about getting killed in an FPS. I simply can't wrap my brain around that.

Is there a mod that allows you to type something in chat (Like the !mortal) And make it so you can no longer kill or be killed?

Honestly well I will be a friendly a few times and most people on the Fun Server are fine with me, some just kill me and I'm fine with that. But I don't freak out over the mic, I let my teammates do that.

Make Pacifist starting out as Mortal then if People want to

Well, chances are the friendlies who play will wind up forgetting to toggle Buddha mode, then scream via chat or VoIP about being killed. That's my thoughts, though who knows what would happen.

Yeah, something like that. But in the end, people are going to complain about anything, no matter how well you set things up. Especially 12-and-below players. That said, I do kinda like the toggle Buddha mode idea. Cause the "friendlies" will go Buddha, if they forget, its their fault, and the admins who just want to kill each other with mantreads or taunt kills or all other manner of useless attacks... well, the point is, toggle Buddha mode is a good idea.
