It's hard to be sniper at first. Main tips for sniper: remove the autozoomin feature, and have a place to hide after you shoot so you aren't a sitting duck. And try not to aim just for snipers--heavies are easy targets.

Practice makes perfect
IF you do come to counter-snipe (which helps your team significantly on pl Maps) make sure you have an almost-definite approximation of where snipers usually are and where their heads tend to be. When in a sniper duel, strafe from right to left in varying intervals of time and occasionally crouch (pop up immediately after you shoot). Remember, HS w/ the power bar at zero = same damage as Full power BS.
