Lagg compensation/"Bending Bullets"

by Patrid » Tue Mar 22, 2011 11:44 am

I've gotten a few complaints/comments as of late about how I can bend bullets as a heavy on certain maps.
I've tested possible scenarios and have come to this conclusion:

My dorm's internet connection causes lagg compensation issues as of late.

Issues:
As a heavy, when an opponent runs behind a wall, for a split second, he will still take damage from minigun bullets (20-35 depending on range).
Negligible:
As a sniper, my shots are delayed half a second (so if i've been sucking as a sniper...you know why)
Same thing goes for soldier.

TL:DR?
I'm Shia Labeouf from Wanted

It would be impossible to play with ping 100+ if there wouldn't be the lag compensation, even if the lag compensation isn't working perfectly...

btw: lag compensation + high ping + sniper/scout = advantage!

Issue is here: I have low(er) ping ~20-40
Plus, the way I've grown accustomed to sniping is to wait around a corner and keep steady aim on a choke point/casual sniping area, then letting their heads run past the dot as I click. I've "missed" some very obviously-precise headshots, but occasionally score a doosy by undercompensating the lead into the shot.

Then, I'm whomever the protagonist (who I remember, looks like Shia) is.

I thought it was common knowledge that you keep taking damage from the heavy as long as your still in his LOS on his (the heavy's) computer.
