Come on, we don't even have a Pokémon thread! Some people may be aware but the next gen of Pokémon is being released in North America in March.

Talk about what was your old school Pokémon team, Pokémon you want to trade and offer via Wi-Fi.

Recently, I've started a new game on Diamond, much fun and my team consist of:

Gastly → Haunter → Gengar (Gen I)
Elekid → Electabuzz→ Electivire (Gen IV)
Chatot (Gen IV)
Seel → Dewgong (Gen I)
Trapinch → Vibrava → Flygon (Gen III)
Slugma → Magcargo (Gen II)

The story is set in a "new" world, with no old Pokémon at all. It'll kind of be like when people started with Blu/Red and didn't know what Pokémon will be along the way, exept now internet exist and I can plan my team in advance.

I actually found my old DS Lite, albeit broken. Still works enough to snag Celebi on Diamond. Decided to preorder Pokemon Black (the US one, since I only played the Japanese one) with some of the money I got for trading in my PS2, at the same time finish it. (and started on Portal 2's preorder)

Volcarona is the evolved form of Larvesta, the Pokémon you get as an Egg from a guy in a house on Route 18.

I still haven't evolved mine, though since I have the National 'Dex now it shouldn't be much of a challenge. (It evolves at level 59.)

I've been playing a lot of Pokemon White after a long streak of Tf2 but when I picked it up this morning my data was corrupted and it was back to square one. At least I didn't waste hours trying to figure out why the hell I couldn't find Sawk this time around! Feckin' shaking grass bs.

I have Black, and had to trade with my brother (who has White) to get a Throh.

when i was in middle school, in pearl version, i caught a shiny wingull lvl 40, it was all green and stuff and i also caught a shiny raticate in pearl lvl 51. my friend wanted a shiny pokemon so i offered her my raticate (wingull is epic) and she didnt want it because it was male (she wanted female pokemon only) and my wingull was a female, she threatened me to give it to her, or else she would go to my house and cut off my feet.

I don't know if I've ever told you guys this story, but I have gone through 2 copies of LeafGreen and Emerald.
My first LeafGreen mysteriously vanished and I had to buy a used copy to replace it; my first Emerald was stolen straight out of my DS. To this day the perpetrator has not been identified.
The reason I brought this up is because the day before my Emerald cartridge was stolen, I caught a shiny female Tentacool and named it Kirameki.

I have like so many legendaries that are shiny through GTS that are hacked because they are shiny and have moves they should not have... Every pokémon have the same maximum Effort values points (510) with a maximum of 255 by stat, so in competition you get banned if you use pokémons with more then 510 EVs.

So when I said max evs I meant pokémon with evs like 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def. Not 255 every stats.

Ah. So you're basically cheating.
The only cheats I ever used were the ones to get Darkrai, Shaymin and Arceus without going to an event.
So far I have not been caught; though I did get an error message in the GTS one time that said my Darkrai could not be offered for trade.

IVs can't make THAT much of a difference, yeah? I mean, sure a few extra stat points here and there, but I think for all the hassle it's worth, it'd be outshone by superior team composition/move sets... O:

True, but in Gold/Silver you could clone Pokémon and by extension get infinite legendaries and Master Balls.

I guess I'll get into my Pokemon as well.

IVs can make quite the difference when it comes to competitive battles, namely in that of a speed tie. If you train both your pokemon equally, the person with the higher IV will will the battle most of the time. Yes, you can have bad players with good IV's just lose because of poor judgement, but if your playing against someone competent, its difficult to win unless you have perfected your pokemon. But that is just my opinion.
