I haven't played too much as progression is going to be reset at the end of the beta. I just wanted to try it out.

It's an amazing game, I haven't been this excited for an FPS since TF2 came out in 2007.

Simple to pick up with a great level of skill and cooperation required to excel. Plus every character feels different to play and there's something for everyone. Maining a character isn't as easy as TF2 since there's so many responses to different comps of "classes".

So far my faves are certainly Reaper, Reinhardt, Lucio, Junkrat, and Tracer. I've found that each class is fun to play though. I probably play Zarya and Zenyatta the least though.

I've only got about an hour of play in. Pharah is definitely my fav so far but haven't had the chance to fully explore most of them.
Definitely liking that game, although I find it very flashy and I'm often spending more time focusing on red outlines and health-bars then actually enjoying the graphics and scenery.

I wont be buying anytime soon.

Dang, that's real nice. I've played SO much soldier I'm trained to shoot feet and I can't break the habit so I end up sucking as Pharah. My airshots in TF2 suck, thus they suck here too.

One of the things Overwatch did right. I've had games where we had too many medics. It's not the end of the world if you don't have one either.

Just read that Overwatch might be this years most optimised FPS game. And i checked some benchmarks and it looks really good for it actually.
GTX 970 @ 4K was hovering around 60fps
GTX 980 @ 4K was hovering around 100fps

While TF2's performance is getting worse by the day it seems, alteast for me.
So for those planning to play Overwatch at 1080p will be solid with a very cheap PC and graphicscard if you plan on buildinig soon.

I think Mei is fine. In the hands of a good player, she can be supremely annoying if you let her get to close to a team fight unchallenged. I'm surprised at how no one will focus her the moment she is in a team fight. There's a lot of new players in now so some people do not yet know each heroes play style yet.

Bastion used to be far more of a problem in closed beta than he is now. He used to just automatically get additional shields when he went into turret mode and change modes almost instantly. I think he's easily killable with Genji, Pharah, Widowmaker, Hanzo, Junkrat, and Tracer. You either have to kill him long distance or harass him enough to force him to move.

McCree is sort of broken, he certainly has a combo that when pulled off is basically a free kill(s). The damage of his revolver also tapers off the farther it travels, and he's pretty weak in the HP pool. Your best bet against him is to out damage him and keep out of the range of his stun. Out manuevering is a good defense since his one bullet shot can be hard to aim against a player who is moving unpredictably.

Also, remember to hide when its high noon.

And yeah, I feel like Zenyatta is meant to be a mix between a decent healer and good long range attacks. His discord orb is great against tanks and revealing their teams movement. I wish healing orb healed a little faster though. But yeah, he's super squishy and easy to kill. I hope he gets some modest buffs.

agree with this. but yeah, if you have good team composition there's usually a counter for everything. Although i think mcree is the most annoying with his flash combo, you shouldn't let him get close to you, play at a safe distance as zen, focus an annoying mei more than anything. Only other issue classes are widow, especially if shes damage buffed in the distance and its hard to reach her. Even then, just cordinate pushes with your teamates and they can be flanked.

As for Bastion, he was WAY worse before. hes so easily killable with the right hero. And lucio seems perfectly fine.

I guess it can be pretty difficult if you are playing on your own and everyone on your team goes reaper or hanzo because all they care about is potg. Try to hop on with a full party, things are much more enjoyable when you coordinate.

She can freeze you if you're staying way too close for some time. If you have a mobility ability you can easily get out of it. And getting frozen as certain heroes doesn't always mean you just die.

Get flashbanged by McCree you die. Doesn't matter which hero you're he has enough dps with 2 fan-fires. Lacks any form of rock>paper>scissors balance it's disgusting.

Lucio's average chance of being played on a team in ranked was 167% meaning Lucio was being played at a rate of more than 1 lucio per team.* Mercy isn't even half that and Zenyatta wishes he was at least half Mercy. He can aoe heal more the Zenyatta's heal can on a single target and it heals himself too. Just impossible to kill. Takes three full charged widowmaker bodyshots in a row to kill him if he pops his 12 second cooldown shift ability. It takes two for Mercy, and only one for Zenyatta. Constant 12.5 self heal per second is just stupid in general.

It depends on who you're fighting her with, some heroes have a way to escape her freeze and her ulti if you react quickly enough. Reaper can Wraith form and move out of range of Mei's freeze, Reinhardt can charge out of it, Genji can dash out, some heroes are short on luck, but thats why you need to be wary of her, especially when she's grouped up.

I have a great time fighting her with Reaper. Get a few pot shots in her right before her freeze gun completely freezes you, use wraith form and then finish the job. if she uses her cryo-heal, then you have time to use wraith form again.

Her ult I feel gives me enough time to react. She makes a very distinct sound right before it begins to activate. It can also help to just practice with Mei in skirmish and see how far her freeze gun can reach.

She is probably one of the easiest heroes. Right after capping first of Hollywood you can just spam a spawn sightline for easy kills right there.

I actually LOVE Zen myself..What do you use as your melee button? I see a LOT of people using it effectively and I've never incorporated it into my game. The default key is way too awkward but it doesn't work well on my MWHEELPRESS for some reason and I can't figure out where else to put it.

It seemed as though whenever a group of 4+ were created, you would face a 5/6 stack even while underdogs (by a lot). That one time I was queued with three 65+ friends and faced Harbleu x M4risa x other teammates in a full group...

oh yeah i understand those underdog feels. we faced those same people, plus moffit, moonmoon, iddqd, iid and more and just prayed one of our randoms would leave before the match started lol.

also im not sure im too happy with the new season restrictions. in PTR i placed into Master rank at 3580 and my friend got 3800. (we played all our placement matches together and went 9-1 the loss was due to a leaver). You cant play with someone more than 500 ranks from you. and once again it sucks cause as a support main its hard to maintain my rank, so if my friend wants to rank up i NEED to play with him or else ill fall below the 500 rank difference. :/ at Master and Grandmaster you need to keep playing as your rank decays from inactivity.


also if you plan to do PTR rankings. DO NOT SOLO. my friend who is on our skill level solo'd and got a torb on Koth, and an offensive symmetra and bastion and lost his matches. imo just queue with a max of 3 people and you should be fine.

More don't solo at the start of a given season in any video game. I get that it's going to be time limited since it's PTR. But I wouldn't expect completely serious matches on PTR unless you group to make them. When the matching pool is full of unstabilized players you just end up playing against last season 80s when you have a team of 50s. If you're grouping with players that were your skill level it doesn't matter that much.

As a given it's easier to rise the later the season is either way;

1: The ranks have stabilized.
2: More mmr in the system.

3500 at the start is incredibly good. Wasting time on the PTR to get nothing for it though is a shame so I'm not bothering.

Sombra out now in the PTR and shes pretty lit from what Ive seen. The problem is you can either go to Arcade mode and have a 6v6 Sombra fight or you can go to quick play which now has a one hero limit so you most likley wont be able to play her.
