Gray Python - An HL2 Mod

by Harpo_53 » Fri Jul 15, 2011 12:54 pm

Hey guys-
Just thought this would be a good place to promote my new WIP Half-Life 2 mod, Gray Python. Any information you want on the mod can be found at http://www.graypython.webs.com/. The fact that it is still WIP should be heavily emphasized. At this point, I'm not even really looking for beta testers; it's more like alpha testers. Expect bugs and exploits abound, but it IS playable from beginning to (temporary) end if you're not TRYING to break everything.

Also, if you're interested in becoming a voice actor, or have any talent making 3D models, feel free to contact me. That's about all, have fun playing if you're interested.

I might just download this Harpo. I'd also be more than happy to help in any way, but I'm not sure how much help a 16 year old kid could be in terms of voice acting.

Downloading now. Regarding the .7z format, 7-Zip (http://www.7-zip.org/) is where it started.

I still prefer PeaZip because it has so many other functions beyond just .7z, but I suppose others may want 7-Zip. I'll add it to the page.

Edit: Added.

Alright, I posted this on the Mod's forums, but I figured I may as well post it here too for anyone who might be interested in helping out.

Here's what I'm looking for at the moment:

1. Voice Actors - Both male and female voice actors are welcome. To apply, you'll need to provide a sample of your work in any way you please. Please note that I'm only looking for people with fairly high-quality microphones; if all I can hear is ambient noise, you're probably not going to be accepted.

2. I'm not really sure what to call this one, but I need people with a lot of patience who are willing to lip-sync audio...by hand. At some point along the line, Valve broke the Phenome Extractor in the SDK, making it impossible to automatically lip-sync any dialogue. This means that in order to have any non-default voice where the person's mouth moves, all audio has to be synced by hand. Trust me when I say this requires a LOT of patience, don't accept the job thinking it'll be over in no time. You'll probably be mentioned in the credits about 100 times for being able to do this. Experience using Faceposer is a plus for this job, but if you don't have any experience I can show you the ropes somewhat quickly.

3. 3D Modellers - Valve provided us with a lot of resources in Half-Life 2, but it's still not even close to everything that's needed. Don't worry, you won't be doing incredibly complex stuff like character models, but things like cars, statues, and other assorted things might be needed.

Other than that, there's nothing we really need at the moment. If anybody's interested, respond here in this thread, send me a PM, or e-mail me at Harpo_53@yahoo.com.

So a person only needs to do 1 or all 3?
‹Failhorse› you guys are fucking boring.
How to get a girl
This works. Walk up to a girl and shake her hand. Complement her boobs, tell her she has a nice smile. Tell her your children with her will be beautiful. Complement her boobs again.

Only one, they're all separate jobs. Although if you WANT to do more than one, I'm sure as hell not going to stop you.

Depending on the quality of the models, Cars may be harder than Characters, I'm a beginning 3d artist and could maybe help a little, but I can't guarantee you'll like the results 8-)

EDIT:

Or for that matter, my availability.

Just an update bump, I've released a new version today. Includes several gameplay and bug fixes to the previous content, and extends the story a bit.
