So i bought portal 2 and dirt 3 yesterday
and there is this windows live thingy
and everytime i try to make a gamertag(cuz i already have a windows live profile) it says that i found a error any clues?

Have you tried contacting Microsoft Support about the issue? If nothing else, it wouldn't hurt to check your printer cables.

See this is why I pirate my software; unlike corporate versions, pirated copies have teams of dedicated, talented programmers with the knowledge and abilities to modify the software on-the-fly until it works for as many people as possible.

Corporations already have your money once you've bought their game; if you can't get it to work then that's not as big a problem for them.

I have a cracked copy of GFWL that bypasses all the server/connection issues associated with the standard client; you just make a local profile and play to your heart's content.

No achievements though; that's the one difference.

Sorry, I stopped caring about achievements back when I threw my 360 into storage, let my 4 year running, 35,000 gScore/55,000tScore/75%completionRate Launch account lapse back into obscurity, and got a gaming machine that didn't suck.

Plus, there's the whole "everything's free" thing, which is pretty handy when you consider there's no way in hell I'm willing to shell out $40 just to abandon Dead Rising 2 after a week.

The 360 is still a useful console for many types of more casual gaming, and for high-end games if you don't have a bunch of money to waste on part upgrades. I just don't happen to fall into either of those categories anymore.
