I found an easter egg with the singing turrets far before the ending of the game. Pretty sure it was just as the reflecting cube was introduced. I was perplexed to say the least...

I have to say, Portal 2 had one of the best ending in recent memory. From the moon to the opera to the companion cube to the ending song to Wheatley apologizing, I was thoroughly engaged. Also, was I also the only person whose heart skipped a beat when GLaDOS deleted Caroline and the shot with the turrets targeting you? The only game I can think of with a more satisfying ending in the past few years is Red Dead Redemption. Too bad I haven't finished co-op yet.

Yea, my heart skipped a beat when GLaDOS deleted Caroline too... when the door opened and the sentries aimed, my heart stopped. I was sad about Caroline... but then to find out she really excaped into the turret system. I feel better now.

Well, it's still speculation based on the song lyrics. As for Cave being the father, there's no evidence for that really except that Cave and Caroline were close. I think someone calculated everything based on age and it didn't really work out since Cave would have to be quite old to have Chell when she was born.

I'm still quite doubtful about the whole thing.

Uhh, no. According to Shiguro Miyomoto, every Zelda game is it's own separate storyline, unless stated otherwise. So, Zelda 2 is in the the same time line as the original, but Ocarina of Time has nothing to do with it.

Most people seem to be going with the who thing based on the fact that A) Chell's parents worked at Aperture, B) Cave and Caroline were close, C) that while under the influence of Caroline, she is nice to you, and D) that Chell and Caroline share a resemblance. Other than that, it's just speculation and wishful thinking. We don't even know if Cave and Caroline were together or if they had a child.

Well, I was going on the song's lyrics... that Caroline was the mother, why else would she say (well sing) such things to her?
I am unsure of Cave's age, but for the ingame stuff he was older than Caroline. ... Remember when he said "Sorry guys, she is married... to Science!" That kinda had me thinking to.

I know it is pure speculation on my part... but I would find it a bit ironic that the best test subject of all time... and a good hard counter to GLaDOS... was GLaDOS creator's child. Maybe if Caroline couldn't keep her under control, Chell would be able to down her. XD

Boom. Follow that directory in GCFScape and open pak01_dir.vpk. Navigate to sound and then music. Now, I had trouble finding the National song or the turret opera, but Want You Gone is in dere. If you find either of those, tell me.
EDIT: Scratch that. It appears as if the neither of those are in there. You need another program for that. RAD Video Tools is what you need to view the opera. Sadly, it is just the video that is in game, so it is the same length.

The first Portal soundtrack is available on iTunes (and it came with Audiosurf for those who have it).

Also it's possible that Chell is older than she looks; I seem to recall GLaDOS saying at the beginning of Portal 1 how Chell had been in suspended animation or something.
