I'm buying it when my bank account does not consist of only cents.
Also Valve will probably give hats for tf2 at pre-purchase, they do it for everything.

There's already the portal pin in the game raws, they'll probably give us that. It is delicious and moist and I want it.

Was that what it was for? TO THE WIKI!

Edit:

Looks like a tester at PAX got a "Vintage Companion Cube Pin", but it hasn't been officially released yet, so I'm gunna put my money on it being a gift for pre-orderers of Portal 2.

I hear if you get it for PS3 you get it free for PC.

That is what I shall be doing, as I have both a PC and a PS3, and 2 platforms for the price of one is very nice indeed.

I'm thinking about doing this as well, because I really want somebody I know to at least try out Portal. (he has a PS3) Compared to everyone else, Amazon is offering nothing but the price drop for the preorder. (just a head's up)

I have both too. Does it work the other way around, as it does with PC-Mac cross-platforming?

Just for the record, I did the 10% discount-plus-free-Portal promo and gave the free copy to a friend (I got Portal for free when Steam was first released on Mac).

Until the release, if you have Doom II, there's a mod for the ZDoom source port and its branches that is based on the Portal mechanic. (with a few additions) It's called ZPortal, and the final level is very long.

First thing I'm doing is go through the single-player campaign.

Fun fact: The scene with you, Wheatley, and GLaDOS changed a bit. Not telling you guys what's different. You'll see for yourself.

I'm going to pretend that I never saw that. Sorry, I think the game is worth more than a virtual pin.

Speaking of pins, I just hope I can still get one. (preorderd from Gamestop, and can't get cash for cancelling since I paid a majority of it with store credit)

It's simple: If you don't want to play it or ever will think about playing it, don't "burn 50 doula." Don't buy it just for a virtual item. If you're desperate for the pin, go to trade servers and see if anyone is willing to sell it.

Bleugh, it gives me a C++ runtime error when it hits the main menu. Once I validated the integrity of my etc. and it flagged something, reinstalled, and gave me the same error. Sigh!

I don't even get a error.

Shows the valve video, then shows the P-body load screen then kicks to desktop.....validate the game cache says problem with 1 failed and says redownloaded and fixed and repeat problem.

Valve has announced that my problem is apparently related to FAT32 (freaking Valve, twice before TF2 has been broken on FAT32 and now Portal 2 freaks out on it). The current workaround is "install it on an NTFS drive", which has varying success and isn't an option to me anyway. They have confirmed that they're working on a permanent solution.

Thanks, Valve. I'll try to calm down. I just want to love Portal 2, you know?

Valve is retarded, the drive thing was found and tested LONG ago by the player base while they waited for valve to "wake up" and that fix barely works for anyone.

UPDATE:
I went to Fry's today to ask about getting OS X 10.6.7, apparently it's not slated to come out until later this year.
WHAT THE FUCK VALVE?!? First the fiasco with the Scream Fortress update and now this!

EDIT: Scratch the above; apparently it's the CD version of 10.6.7 that's slated to come out. The upgrade is already available, so I can just buy 10.6.3 and upgrade from there (please correct me if I'm wrong).
