Cloud's tips and tricks to playing the Spy

Now, first thing is first. If you're just starting out and only have the default weapons, your invisibility watch is your best friend. The watch lets you move around completely unnoticed, and because the spy is a very easy to kill class, it is quite possibly the most important tool in your arsenal. It is vital to your success beacause if your cover is blown, then most of the enemy team will make a large and usually successful attempt at killing you. Also a note to remember is that the only invisibility watch that can't be resupplied from weapon pickups from your victims or an ammo crate is the cloak n dagger. Make mental note of where ammo is and stop by from time to time to refill your cloak meter. Now, another large advantage of the spy is your ability to see the health of the enemy team. If an enemy is fleeing from the fight due to low health, don't make a large attempt to backstab them. Instead, use your revolver. The revolver has a decent damage output, fast rate of fire, and quick reload. This gives it the ability to finish off weakened enemies with 1 or 2 shots. You may think that there is no point in attacking an already fleeing enemy, but the less enemies that are respawning on the opposite team makes it easier for your team to capture the payload or a control point. Now for the disguise kit. While useful for hiding your prescence from the enemy, it doesn't do much if you run from your side of the map to their side. Most seasoned players will know that you are a spy and open fire, so staying invisible for as long as possible is a must. This brings us to the butterfly knife. Even though is has the power to instantly kill anybody with a quick poke in the back, is has an extremely low rate of swinging and also has a low damage output if you miss your stab. Remember, patience is vital to playing the spy very well. Yet another key item in the spy's aresenal is his electro sapper. This item has the ability to disable and damage any buildings that an engineer can place. This can be vital to the success of your team my destroying a sentry that is in a hard to hit location. A trick that can be used with the spy when the engineer is camping near his sentry gun is to backstab the engineer, then quickly pull out your sapper and place it on the sentry. This tactic will only work if the sentry gun is facing away from you, otherwise you will be blasted to bits.

Well that about does it for this guide. Any other advice or idea placed in the area below would be greatly appreciated.

That's what we've been doing wrong... we're supposed to backstab the enemy?

P.S. although the notion is appreciated, the format is a bit rough, as mentioned earlier, and CSn actually has a very active spy community with some fairly seasoned spies.
