From most to least popular:

- Badwater/Goldrush 24/7
- Upward/Thundermountain 24/7
- Payload Rotation
- Control Point Rotation

Source: I've been in Badrush servers for an entire say with 22+ people in : D

Is it possible to run Saxton Hale mod then switch to another map of a different mod after? That'd be pretty cool; like a server that goes like this...

- Saxton Hale (1 to 3 maps worth)
- TF2Ware
- Fort Wars
- Prop Hunt
- Some other good custom maps, like pl_frontier, cp_warpath (MAYBE), pl_cashworks_b2, etc.

Throw them into a blender and I'd be on Server #3 quite a bit ;) It'd be unique, over one of those 24/7 2fort/Dustbowl/Payload/other CP servers you can always find.

24 man works well for these modes too, prop hunt might be a bit strange with a lot of people, though. Ya never know (:

Okay here are some ideas. As to what type of server it should be:

1. Ammomod (MGE maps or just ammomod maps)
2. 24/7 Orange_x3 server(Will attract lots of people but will need time to do that. I would organize events in the server to attract outsiders. Also, you could fill the server with Bots and every time a person joins the bot gets kicked from the server. Maybe fill half of the server with bots, 12/24. People would be playing against bots but hopefully it will attract more people.Just don't state that there are bots in the server.)
3. Orange map rotation(You will need a good rotation of orange maps that will interest people. I suggest you play in some different orange maps and see what gets filled up.)
4. Jump Server(always gets filled with a decent amount of people. If you want to start the server with lots of people. I suggest you start the server at "jump_adventure" map. It gets server very populated very quickly.)


These are just some of my ideas. Also since you guys have other servers. I would start a vote on those servers to see what those players prefer. Also don't use rtv, use a a decent voting system. It's a lot better if the server regulates maps so it won't stay in the same boring map and lose people. You could also add an option, "extend map for 20 minutes", to see what players prefer at that time.

P.S. Saw this because of the hats giveaway. How will we know who won?

I'd actually like to see a modified TF2 server.

...That is, changing each weapon in each class' arsenal to make it a more balanced game than TF2 is already. This means buffing things like Dalokohs and Pain Train that seldom see serious use, and nerfing things like Natascha and Equalizer that are obviously leaps and bounds better than their alternatives; it also has potential to turn into a project for the forums! I have quite a bit of knowledge about modifying TF2 and could head the server's coding process, if you not having knowledge affects anything.

Vanilla TF2.
Randomized weapons. (Always changing everybodys loadout each time they die)
Custom maps rotation.
Gungame TF2 style. (Start as medic, end as solder, gaining weapons along the way)

gungame and randomizer are impossible in tf2's current state. You can't attach the correct viewmodels to the players...
Inzanedude we already have a server like that minus the custom maps. All the same mods as a matter of fact with tf2ware thrown in

If people are into it, it might be cool to start a ZF server, provided you don't use terrible maps like ZF_Dustbowl.

I was thinking you could have a coolest hat color/name/description contest (or for that matter a coolest weapon name/description contest) or maybe a game of meele wars where you have all crits

To those suggesting full on game mods, we have a mod server for that. Check the front page for the IP.

There has been some talk of custom map rotations, which I think is the way to go. We might be able to test my newer small mod once I get it done... Melee duels in the middle of normal rounds.

I just took a look at MCGs server list, and all they have are 24/7 Turbine, Orange_X3, 2fort, and Idle servers. I don't think we need that. There are plenty of 24/7 servers out there. I don't think that as a community we need one, with the sparse server list we already have. Having 2 servers that only plays Goldrush and Freight, I don't think we need a 24/7 Freight server.

Would just like to point out that if Goldrush and Freight are being played all the time, that's fine, because we utilize 'nominate' and 'rtv' to ensure a utilitarian map cycle.

I'm not specifically opposed to 24/7 servers. I think SB3 needs to have some element of gimmickyness (it's a word; look it up!), just because I don't think we have enough regular players to fill 3 democratic stock servers. Could be way off base here, though.

My final vote (for today teeheeeeee): Orange maps, either with low grav/100% crits on all the time or a vote on both at the start of every round.

Something that might help would be to make the start of voting more obvious. If you notice, usually only about half the server votes at all (this is America afterall), so maybe having a noise or something pop up to tell you to vote would help get those numbers up.

Once we get more people voting, then I say whatever gets picked rules.

well, i'm an arena lover, and it would be awesome to have a random arena map server, and you could add to it those nice things that lets us choose things like melee rounds, and other options, since all the other servers are mostly payload (aka, goldrush, lol), Capture points (freight, any1?) and someeetimes Ctf, an arena server would be a nice addition to the community :)

Even thought the popularity for Arena maps are low, it would probley still be a good idea for a server to have arena maps since none have been played on the current 3 servers that i have yet to see/hear, and it would be a good change

I was playing around and setup a server. I haven't finished configuring it, but it was going to be all maps, not just the tiny rotation we have on SB. If I can now just get @benny to give me the mods+configs they use, I could put it up :)
