Upon Konfy's request I started using Chris's MaxFPS thing. It works kind of, but there are some drawbacks, namely this:


Uhhh, why is my proro on fire? The same goes for my medic and sniper:



I dun geddit. It's not game breaking, but it is a tad hard to distinguish between red and blu Snipers, Medics, and Proros now. I'll probably just uninstall the script pack, but does anyone have any idea why this happened?

Might have something to do with the game trying Directx8 settings in Directx9, if you haven't changed your launch options.

I have a 50/50 chance of a soundloop crash that forces me to restart my PC when I try and play demoman and only with demoman happens whenever I try and fire/swing any of his weapons.

You probably didn't set your launch options to DirectX 8.1; that script was designed for that level, and going above it causes anomalies with the graphics. http://www.freefrag.com/team-fortress-2/5152-%5Bhow-%5D-launch-options-configurations.html is a good guide for setting up TF2's launch options, and it ought to help further with framerate as well.

I did.... In fact, it only does this when in DX81

Then use his DX90frames script instead, and set -dxlevel back to 95. Not as much as an improvement, but there's some other things that can help with that.

Edit: Waitwaitwait no, don't do that. Set mat_specular to 0. That'll fix the fire textures.

My game likes to stutter every now and then, sometimes. Other times it doesn't happen, but when it does, it keeps happening for the session. Very annoying because I usually die a few seconds after the stutter occurs.

Do you use wireless Benny? If not you can simply turn of WZC in Admin settings. If not you have to make a .bat file I forget the coding to.

Not sure what WZC is. However my internet is not the problem. I'm not on it at the moment to prove it (campus wifi currently) but at my dorm I get at least 200Mb/s (speedtest.net isn't fast enough to measure it accurately).
