I can donate some unusuals and some other high end vintage items. I haven't been interested in making a new contest because there have been mixed complaints in the past. I try to give away items in a contest and I get criticized instead of thanked for being generous.

not enough people actually thank fingerman for donating all of those things (i gave away four hats last time)

I absolutely hate these contests. They lead to point whoring and the occasional cheating (work with an enemy to get points). There are the select few big winners, who are ecstatic, and those who gave up so much of their time, only to either get nothing or to get a hat that they could've easily traded up for within the week.
Either way, I can't let Fingerman provide all the unusual hats this time.

1. Min 5 hours played thru the month
2. Must be registered on the forums. At least 10 posts
3. Must belong to the steam group
4. When criteria is met, list yourself on contest thread.
5. Maybe... Must join Critsandvich elite group.

Can you set some criteria for what quality of items you want? I would probably like to donate some strange weapons and/or keys, but I want the make sure you do not just want hats!!! Also, I appreciate you fingerman even though I am 0 for 2 in contests

i dont think its the items being donated its the complaints in general that upset them they do all these great things and then ppl post and PM them complaining about it for various reasons .... personaly i think now that there is 3 SB's and Westbox there is a way to do it and make everyone happy and still show everyone CSn is still about accomadating everyone and trying to matain the festive fun atmosphere they have brought to life ...

show your support guys show the redmins just how much you love it here and i dont mean through donations but through words of support, the support shows them that ppl actually appreciate everything they do

but personally i think 1 of the SB's on next contest should be the non-contest box ... so the ppl who dont want in can just play like usual ... but thats just my 2 cents

What about the tried and true sourcemod/motd spam in game? The only way that we pulled people to the website with contests before was to force them to register to win the hat contest...they still showed up to register, but not surprisingly, many did not stick around or make a single post. The prizes could still pertain to ingame items or we could do free donator for the top [x] entries, w/e. Some people are crazy artistic or creative, especially in this community, and I think that a comic contest would be the perfect way to showcase it, promote the site, and to fill this website up with some meaningful content

What about giving away a prize everyday for a month or once a week to top,worse, nominated, w/e player of the week... raffle one item everyday to new registers on the website? If you use stats, use the awards... most heals, most saps, most telefrags, etc.

i like dopples idea also hlstats randomly post 2 awards everyday so if the is 60 items u can do it like that save any vintage or unusuals for other things

it also encourages players to play cause awards are based off playing (i like stating obvious)
