Degroot Server

by Drawed » Fri Jun 10, 2011 5:36 pm

I've been apart of CSn for a while now, and have constantly nagged Seven about putting a word in for a 24/7 Degroot server. he just told me to make an account and suggest it. So I'm giving in and doing just that. So yea... I think a 24/7 Degroot Server would be pretty damn awesome.

FFN tried one back when I was a member. Even though degroot had just come out, the server failed after about a week. People simply lose interest after a while and that type of server will inevitably fail. I think it would be cool to put degroot on the slaybox, but definitely not as a single-map server.

is it possible to make a vote set of options that's really short, like 2-3 maps, of which degroot will almost surely win?

how about this though, i have admin powers on a ny server and i can make it run degroot any time you like, if you can help populate it.

I'd support DeGroot in Slaybox, if only as a test.
I refuse to use
    Soda Popper
    Liberty Launcher
    Axtinguisher; Phlogistinator
    Stickybomb Launcher
    Tomislav
    Pomson 6000
    Quick Fix
    Bushwacka; Machina
    Enforcer; Spycicle

on CSn servers.
I don't expect you to, but I appreciate those of you that do.

We ran degroot on the Fun server for a little while before it was completely set up. It did okay, but only because it was a new map. I'm disappointed that there is no way to turn on medieval mode for other maps, and that Valve has not made any more, considering the effort that must have gone into making the mode in the first place (IMO wasted effort, I hope it was made by an intern or someone who really didn't have anything better to do).

Well, it's the only official map to require it, but it can be turned on on any map, kind of like highlander mode.

Too ban Degroot needs Medieval Mode to run; CP_Degroot could be a fun custom map as-is.

Community = quality, generally.

Also the quality of everything decreases the more its used, played, or whatever
