random crits = what makes the game fun. Getting them is awesome. Dying to them makes me feel "meh, he didn't actually out-fight me." It's more fun that way.

Toaster wrote:This just in: not everyone finds the same shit fun. I think random crits ruin the game, and they trivialize tf2 DM. DM being 50% of the game, so whats left?? Team work, well thats not there either so you're playing 0% of tf2 when random crits are on!
Notice how that was completely ridiculous... MESSAGE
I think SBI is great, just not my "cup of tea" so I much prefer my "kiddie table" tyvm.

Shit, you don't have anymore team work in SB2 than in SB1 that I've seen. Goes back to what I've been saying for years to try-hards in pubs, join a comp team, because you're not going to find what you're looking for in any pub server without becoming this guy.
Its like Jason "Stryfe" Dourlaris said, (old school UT player) "At the end of the day the rules ect don't matter, good players will always come out on top because of the players they are." Ofc good luck finding that interview, its about impossible to find anymore
Heres a thread that was made about it on another forum

I'm full aware that no pub servers have team work. I think you just missed my point :]
We each have our preferences when it comes to taking a break from work/school/dicking around all day. Those of us who use said break time on TF2 don't all like random crits. I'm guessing everyone implies that no crits = super serious because comp has no crits. Well thats cool, comp had crits for a lot longer than it hasn't. Pub players don't vary in skill/teamwork according to whats on or off in the server, it's a matter of preference and nothing more. I'll always pick sb2 over sb1 (even if I need to pop it) and it isn't up to anyone to try and sway me away from where I would rather be playing.

benny hill wrote:Once you reach a point of skill in TF2 (I'm in no way saying I've reached this...) the crits you get don't matter anymore and random increases in damage by enemies can destroy the KDR you've worked up. So it's not fun to play on a crits server--random people kill you, which frustrates you.
I understand completely. As for me, I tend to prefer no-crits. I'm more annoyed by dying from crits than pleased by dealing them.
Mike808 wrote:yea thats exactly it. but i just dont like crits cause i feel i have a chance of winning if there was no crits. if i would have died no matter what i dont mind.
my fav is when i walk around a corner and get killed by random krit rocket. if only i was good, i could avoid that

Harpo_53 wrote:I also think a part of my problem is that Valve designed the game around random crits; they've always been a part of it, and it was never Valve's idea to remove them from the game; that's why No Random Crits is such a common weapon disadvantage. Random crits are a part of the game's balance, and taking them out upsets that. To me, taking out random crits is the same as making the respawn times instant or anything like that; it's such an infringement on how the game was intended to be played, it makes the servers that run like that...simply not fun.
