Hi again, all

I've got access to Source Filmmaker for TF2, and I've run out of ideas of what to do. Source Filmmaker, for those who don't know, is the tool used to make the Meet the Team videos. So if you've got any ideas of what to make, or you want a custom background for yourself, just post in here and tell me two things: the first, of course, being what you want the picture to be off. The second is your desktop resolution. If you don't know what your desktop resolution is, I have instructions for how to find it at the bottom of the post.

Please keep in mind that anything you want a picture of has to have been possible in the ORIGINAL 2007 TF2 Beta, or at least something that can be faked in it using careful effects (airblasts, for example, weren't possible back then but I MIGHT be able to make one using some tricky editing). I'm not saying that I can make anything you request; I am, in fact, quite a newbie to the program. But I think I should be able to manage most requests.

Here are some examples of what I've done so far. If you want one of these, but they're in the wrong resolution, just let me know. HOPEFULLY I still have the needed files for all of them.

Finding Your Desktop Resolution
It's pretty simple, actually! Simply go here: http://www.whatismyscreenresolution.com/ and copy the numbers under "You Are Using"

oooooooo. i have an idear to vector something. really any large resolution would be great. Something along the lines of a soldier jumping (such as wellsoldier0002b but maybe as a side/ angle view/further out shot. that supplied image might just be enough though. Thanks!

I think 0001 is my favorite; thank you! This will do excellently, my brother's desktop is currently an extreme close-up of a red heavy's face xD. We sit back-to-back so now our screens will have a heavy medic stare-down.

I'll put up a higher resolution version of 0002b later if you'd like. As for a wider angle...I'll do my best

ORIGINAL, 2007 TF2, Unicorn. That means no hats. This was before all of the class updates and everything. I'll do my best to find a good shot of the pyro later on when I get home from school, though, if you'd like.

I don't know if you can do this, but how about BLU Heavy fingerbanging (his "hand gun" taunt) Penis Cupcake? (if you can't replicate, I'll be fine with RED Soldier) Resolution is 1920x1080.

They aren't the proper resolution, however. If you need that, I can re-make on of them for you. If neither of these are doing it for you, then you'll have to be more specific about what you want.

If you don't mind my commissioning another piece, could I get a blue medic taunting with the bonesaw (music playing taunt) in portrait view: 900x1440. On a control point, not sure which maps you have, but the last point of Badlands, Steel, or Well would probably look good. Of course, feel free to take a certain degree of artistic license.

Also, out of curiosity, do you have the scout with the nail gun?

I'll try a few different maps; I have ALL of the current official ones (except the ones from the new community map pack). When you say last point, do you mean RED's last point or BLU's?

As for the nail gun...I do not have it by default. If, however, you were to locate a normal TF2 skin for it, I would be able to install it in SFM.

I was just curious because you said you had the stuff from the 2007 beta and I wasn't sure if that included the nail gun or not.

I'd be interested in seeing it on the last control point as though blue was attacking, so Red, I suppose. Also, if you can possibly acquire the animations, seeing the medic's ubersaw taunt would be great, but I understand that you probably don't have those files.

Call me noob, but how did you get your source filmmaker? It's hard to find online and where it supposedly is seems pretty scandalous. Not having all of the new stuff is kind of lame... but it seems like there should be a way to upload models since other games have used this tool for their videos. Thanks.

I can't exactly tell you how I got it, because....it isn't completely entirely legal (*cough* it's probably completely illegal *cough*). As for uploading models, that's absolutely possible and that's how I can use new maps, as they use models not involved in the original TF2. The problem is that the animation sets are not recognized, and that there's no way to equip alternate weapons in the beta. Models alone are completely useless; you need all of the other stuff in TF2 to actually USE them, and those resources simply aren't there.

I did some research today on tf2 demo recording and I'm going to try some of the HD settings with some camera views for my next video... I know it's still not as good but it's still all real footage and is how Machinima does it to my knowledge.
