Drop Rates

ok I know some of you will be like shut up youve already told us, but I swear to god that the rare drops on my alt have the highest percentage drop ever. In the first 15 hours, I found 2 taunts within half an hour and a salvaged crate 5 hours later.
Is this just me? I am shaking right now because I am so excited.
This seems ridiculous for me, though I am so excited I'm finding this stuff.

To roughly explain (imo)

The "new" people should experience some of the nice things that the more experienced players have, thus valve decided to increase % rates for the accounts with the lower gametime played. Those that help explain it?

don't really know how to feel about it as technically I lost several keys, but hell, its a damn cool strange that I unboxed

They used to do that if your steam rating was low, like say you didnt play TF2 for a while, say about 2 weeks. Your steam rating would drop to almost nothing, and then if you play again, usually your drop rate would be ridiculous. I dunno if they still do that or not.

You are just lucky. Some weeks I get just weapons, other weeks my accounts find multiple hats and such.
Same goes for some of my other friends with multiple idle accounts.
