i've been playing with a few of you recently, thought i'd sign up and say hello, all of that.

i actually do a lot of foruming on a private poker forum i joined 5 or 6 years ago, though since the feds shut down the major sites, i obviously haven't been playing, and my posting has dropped. so i'll likely be a regular poster here... i have 33,469 posts on 67suited.com. i'm pretty intolerable. i apologize for that in advance.

brief spiel--i used to play QWTF at a high level, and was sort of afraid to get into tf2 because one, i was a top 50-100 player in the original and i was pretty sure the skill level would exceed me in tf2 and i'd be left behind; and two, i expected my computer(s) wouldn't run it, and i'm extremely penurious.

but almost 3 weeks ago my poker friends convinced me to start playing, and i've put in something like 115 hours in maybe 16 days. so fwiw.

i'm an 29 year old, divorcee attorney who was laid off of my first lawyer job and now works in a restaurant (at least i make more money doing this than i did as a lawyer, but fml).

also, i like fat chicks. for reals.

i've enjoyed playing with you all so far, hope to get to know you.

ps can i post titties? is that okay? is it good? are there any threads with titties?

Hey Parsifals! I've healed you in slaybox 1 a few times! You're one of the few soldiers I ever see not using the black box if I recall correctly. Thanks!

FYI You get preferential heals over other Soldiers for that.

well tech, if i've got a medic hanging about (or at least a decent medic, or multiple mediocre medics, which is even more often the case) i'm not going to use the black box.. i also find it annoying when i'm medicing and some douche with a black box wants me to pocket for him and when i'm charged, runs into battle like i'm going to uber him. you have 3 rockets bro. you're not getting this uber.

i'm new to the game but i'm totally susceptible to reason. and i only rock a black box when i think i'm not going to be healed.

i might retitle this thread so i can ask questions and solicit comments on it... i want to improve quite a bit, and i need advice and critiques on my play. so please, if you ever see me doing something stupid, let me know right then or come here and tell me. i'll be extremely grateful.

my first question is, do you guys ever play pickup or competitive games? i think the answer is no, you're a public server clan and that's it, so my follow up is, why? i'm very interested in eventually clanning (it's in my DNA; i was the leader of a perennial top10 clan and played for two number 1 clans in qwtf, UvM, Wolvesmoon, and Oblivion, respectively), and if i can't join one, ffs i'll start one myself. my poker buddies and i just purchased a server that we put up today, 66.55.149.122:27015, and once we get going i'll be hitting you up to play there if you're willing. and at about that time i will make a donation to csn, because i'll feel too tremendously guilty asking for something without giving back... but that's the first step as far as i'm concerned in starting what will inevitably be a terrible competitive team.

i'm barely competent but i'd certainly give it a shot. i mean i'm a decent enough soldier, but i am sure i have some glaring flaws.

Yeah, it's a different sort of FPS. I would recommend that you download the map tr_walkway and start practicing

tbh bear those sort of basics are almost all stuff that translated pretty directly from qwtf, so within a week of starting out, i was at more of an intermediate skill level. though i definitely appreciate the thought. and that dude is ridiculous with the direct hit.

i'll practice the map... i think ultimately i could be an asset in competitive play. i top 3 like a boss a lot of rounds

hey parsifals. first off were not a clan. i truely hate clans to tell you the truth. most of us suck really badly at tf2 including myself. we are a community that runs servers for the enjoyment of all tf2 players (excluding all assholes and douche bags). i am co-leader of the trade server and also a pink admins (peach admin) so ask me anything about either of those servers.

i'm well aware at this point unicorn... i'm also signed on for the esea squad that is going to do our best not to get our asses kicked.

i should say that i have a decent understanding of the community despite my newbness... this is all pretty familiar to me, so i was able to figure a lot of it out fairly quickly.

and i am extremely happy with the results i got from that milkman, and have since become obsessed with getting some particle effect on my domepiece. and eternally grateful for your generosity.
