two tf2wikis?

by Fencerboy » Tue May 17, 2011 6:00 pm

Since when?
when i search for tf2wiki on Google i dont think about the one i click, i thought their was only one!

There is a difference though
the first link is more up to date and the two wikis have slightly different info and pictures.....but the same format?
also on the .com link u dont get pop ups

so use the .com not the .net
it is much better

Not quite. It was founded before the official wiki was set up. Plus it's privately owned and operated (as opposed to the official wiki being run by Valve themselves) so they have to use ads (though I must admit some of them are fairly invasive and may contain viruses).

I don't remember where I saw it, or even if I remember it correctly, but I remember seeing somewhere where most people who have ad's on their site(s) advise not to click on them because they may contain viruses. I know for a fact JageX says this because someone sued them for giving them a virus through an ad (and almost won). If anyone has heard anything against it feel free to show/tell me, this is just what I remember seeing.
๑ﭥ klanana: it's funny that you always thought i was a guy, named klare
JimBoBob: Fail, oaties!
๑ﭥ klanana: tbh, i always thought you were mean to me before because i was a girl
oaties: lol, really?
๑ﭥ klanana: then i found out you thought i was a guy.

I just go to the official one. They're both about the same in terms of information given, but I don't like the ads on the unofficial one D:

Fun fact: If you do the Konami code on the official one, the Spy saps the logo.

Sometimes you don't get a choice; the old wiki has ads that take over the entire page and automatically redirect you to other sites. Also there are pop-unders that will NOT go away unless you click a dialog box that says "Click OK to leave this page, or click Cancel to stay on this page." According to my dad, if you click OK on one it automatically downloads and installs a virus.
