Crashful Update Help

im on a mac btw
so starting from the Hatless update my game has been crashing every 30 minutes on average.
crashing is annoying but the thing that worries me is sometimes while in game my screen just starts flickering. Then the computer itself crashes,
my computer has never ever crashed for the 4 years that i had it until this update happened.
the crash happened twice so far.

I was completely unable to play until this Thursday, and now I'm having the exact same problem, but instead of a crash, it's a full lockup. I had to use manual override just to be able to use my computer again.

yea that too actually. i need to hold down power button for 5 seconds
and then it takes forever to bootback up

I was having a lot of problems. I took my computer apart. When I assembed it after cleaning, noticed my bios clock was off. Now i'm fine. Take your pick what was causing it.

my computer is shit and when i opened it up one of the ram sticks was partially melted. i own a 2008 Macbook pro pre unibody
probably gonna have to invest in a tower soon, i feel sad missing out on games like homefront and such

Last night I crashed again. This time it was at the start of a round and I had a kritz medic on me. Waiting for the count down, 3, 2, 1...BAM, crash.

I went in and updated my video drivers, I'll see how that works next time I get a chance to play.

ok i got a soultion
if you're using garm3n hud, stop.
put dis in your launch options
-gl_enable_scaled_resolve +mat_queue_mode 0
download a fps config; i personally recommend using chris' max frames, and put this in your auto exec
cl_focrepreload 0
While it sacrifies around 10 fps; it stops the crashing
or the other solution
use bootcamp

i need you to hold my hand as i install try this. i cant get it to work even with hitorchris' help

EDIT: ok that fixed it
i also downloaded Chris' maxfps and the frankenhud, currently loving it

ok i crashed 8 times in a row today trying to get into the slayboxes and trade. id join the server and once i choose a team it will crash.
i give up
fat gabe better fix this shit fast
