Sandvich and me going to beat your ass!

Hey everyone,

As some of you may know, I was thinking about hosting the first, of a hopefully annual, CSn Meet Up and LAN Party. I brought this idea up a few times both in game and in the Mumble and it seemed to get some positive feedback so I figured I'd make a thread to judge interest and from that begin the planning of such an event.

The idea is pretty simple. One weekend, everyone who can and wants to comes down to my place and hangs out, have some good food and of course play some games. Simple as that. I have a fairly large home with plenty of space in the back yard where I will provide space for tents, if no room is available inside, as well as places to chill, places to eat and places for everyone to set up their rig with Ethernet and power provided. I will also move some of my TVs outside as well, all under tents in case of inclement weather. While I admit this isn't the ideal situation, despite what some tell you, my house isn't large enough for everyone to be inside all at once unless only a few are able to show up.

I'm still undecided on the exact date when I would like to hose this event. As some of you know, my and my wife's work schedule can be a bit unpredictable at times with some weekends taken up so I can't say for sure when I'd be able to make all the preparations and host the event. I also want to know when the best time for everyone else would be too. I'm figuring some time in the early to mid summer (think June-July). This will give ample time to make arrangements as well as provide decent enough weather to allow things to be set up outside. Some of the community are students and they will be off in the summer too.

The location for this event will be my home. While it would be nice to have a dedicated venue, such as a warehouse ect..., funding won't permit that right now. Furthermore it would increase costs for you as you'd need to find a place to stay. I'm located in Spotsylvania County, Virginia about an hour south of Washington DC and an hour north of Richmond. The exact address will be given only to those I'm sure will come and at a later date but that will give you an idea where I'm at and allow you to plan your travel.

While transportation to the location will be up to you, lodging, food, drinks, sanitary services will be provided. Depending on the costs involved I may ask for some donations, either monetary or in some other form such as making some food, bringing drinks, networking hardware ect.... All money collected will go to making the event possible and I will not profit personally from these donations.

This event will be limited to those over 18. Some special consideration may be given to those under 18 but I will need your legal parent/guardian to sign a waver. Sorry need to cover my ass.
Alcohol will be served to those over 21. Bring ID if you want to drink.

And no Rumors, I have never heard of this thing before. Lans are supposed to be at the spot, over cam would be like every other day, except the cam cause I dont have one.

I like the idea and wouldn't mind going.
I dunno if I'd be able to, though, since I'm on the opposite end of Virginia and I don't know how I would do driving for about 6 hours. That, and having money to boot, since most of it is going to college fees.

No can do a 5 and a half hour ride for this, but I would like to meet up sometime. If any of y'all are ever in NYC I could spare a $20 train ride to meet up with you guys. Respect Krieger for trying to make this happen though, America's just too darn big.
