Harri looking to sponsor Critsandvich comp HL team

by Harri » Fri Nov 21, 2014 5:00 pm

Hello all!

Through the years CSn has had a few successful and unsuccessful comp teams in UGC, ETF2L, and cevo (both 6v6 and 9v9). I'd like to help some interested community members in starting up a new team at any skill level.

I have a server (with updated UGC config) and a mumble. Whereas I will not play for the team, I can guide, manage, or otherwise coach the team. Please post here if you are interested in carrying the Critsandvich name into highlander or 6v6 comp.

I can medic, but I have odd hours.
I could use some formal medic training before doing comp though.
What do you mean syringes don't go there? I am the doctor here... they go where I say they go.

I can certainly help with that as medic is my main in comp HL and 6s.

My play style is pretty varied but primarily sniper, engineer and demo.

I am willing to be a substitute for any people that aren't available for competition times

I'm interested, just depending on times and dates for the matches/practices. I'd play heavy or pyro. But if schedules conflict I'd be down to sub if needed :)

I'd be in for this, but I don't really know how to play 'competitively'. I'm decently good on pubs and as an individual player but I don't know the 'rules' persay of comp and how to properly play.

Yeah same. I played comp for a while but that was a long time ago. Maybe we should set up a server, one that isn't used much, with some comp settings and maps to try it out?

I have a server. We can either lobby on it (a very very soft intro to HL and some comp .. not by much). I've played comp tf2 for years. I've led three teams. I'm not invite level or even plat, but I've played Gold for a long time and can confidently rank myself as high gold. I can help get you guys into a comp mindset.

This team will likely be in Iron or steel. I won't join it (and if I do I really need to hella offclass ... ugc will try and pull us from the division). We have a long time before the roster needs to be decided. I'll throw up a steam group tonight and start hosting lobbies for anyone interested.

Sounds interesting, though like most others it's going to depend on the schedule. I mostly do soldier, sniper, and scout.
