Well the floam does stick it seems like "like wet sand hold its form" this doesnt. It slowly gets fluid like right away it seems. You can see that in the beginning of the video when he puts it on the table.

I love how he says it contains Silicon Dioxide. I don't know how well any of you know chemistry, but Silicon Dioxide literally is sand. The other ingredient listed on the MSDS is polydimethyl siloxane which is the ingredient, that as he mentions, is used in in caulking guns, chicken mcnuggets, and cosmetics.

The guy in the first video is a moron. The silicon dioxide is the sand. It's the shit you find on beaches, in soils, as rocks, etc. The polymer in it that gives it these weird properties is polydimethyl siloxane (PDSO), which seems to be becoming really popular. I used it in my senior thesis to create microfluidic devices used for modelling iron oxidation in a sand surrogate, ie I watched rust form.

That said, I've thought about getting this stuff since I actually really do like sand. I worked in a soil lab for two summers and at my current job I've spent at least a hundred hours driving around collecting soil samples and interpreting the results of our analyses. It's a combination of sand / soil being really fascinating and just feeling really good to handle.
