The upside is they paid for the ticket and I got a shitton of frequent flier miles out of it. And I get to milk the jet lag excuse at work for at least a couple days.

I gotta suspect that British rule established some environmental standards so the air and land is probably better than the rest of (populated) China. (Well, that's also owing to their geography, but I digress.) But I'd be damn afraid of their surrounding water and sediments.
