The fact that Texas fairs (comparatively) well isn't much of a surprise to me. I lived outside Texas for the first time in my life this past year and I was completely taken aback by how everyone assumes that people from Texas are automatically racist/homophobic bigots. Yes, there are plenty of those people, but the vast majority of those people are those who live in the small rural towns. Most (but certainly not all) people who live in Houston/Dallas/Austin/San Antonio are not like that at all. Now if you're talking about cities in Mississippi or Alabama, the stereotypes fit pretty much everyone lol.

I live in Alabama and I can confirm that everybody is racist and a bigot, but it's usually not shown through tweets but through spoken word.

I'm happy to see Tennessee (though not my home state, but my current home) is a sweet light blue oasis in the southern hate desert. Then there is Florida, where everyone is too fucked up on bath salts to tweet. Of course, Wyoming might be the only state that has maybe 50 people on twitter, none of them are haters apparently. Thank god my home city and most of my glorious state (CA) is not even shaded. We California girls don't drop shade on nobody.

Really racist FL. Well, I suppose it is to expect considering we were apart of the Confederacy. At least homophobic tweets are at a minimum. Cripple tweets aren't too bad either.
