Looking to expand my musical tastes...

Talk about random stuff that has nothing to do with TF2 or other games.

Looking to expand my musical tastes...

by Fencerboy » Fri Dec 28, 2012 8:15 pm

My iTunes music is getting very stale and I'm looking some new stuff.
I have mostly classic rock and jazz on my iPod currently.
I really want to get into other genres but I don't know where to start!

So post what ye like and me happy!

i normally check out the local bands for this ... but sometimes that can lead to a dislike of certain music ...

Do you have Spotify? I could make a playlist with some tracks I think are worth checking out; otherwise I could make a YouTube playlist. I just don't want to flood the page with YouTube embeds (plus Spotify is an easier interface/service to use).

In the mean time, here's an electropop song:

Metronomy - The Look

I got tired of looking at Drawed's face.

Passion Pit, Matt & Kim, Ratatat, The Black Keys... Just a few off the top of my head.
I play Scout and Medic a lot.

Here's a variety of stuff from my library. It's mostly indie rock/pop from the last five years, but there's some electronic, weird rock (math, post, experimental, etc), hip hop, and whatever else in there going as far back as the 80's. If you want any more info about anything, feel free to ask.

Black Magic EP - Kill The Noise
Dubstep/Electro house, Kill The Noise is known for his complex aggressive style

2 Deluxe - Netsky
Drum and Bass, arguably one of the most popular dnb artists

The Dead Symphonic EP - Zomboy
Dubstep/Electro House, also a drumstep track, one of my favorite dubstep artists, don't really like dubstep too much but this guys the exception

Clarity - Zedd
Electrohouse, 2great
