Alright, I know nobody wants to hear this but I do need opinions: I'm lost completely.

start at the beginning: there's this girl (we'll call her A) that I've been dating (non exclusively) for a month or so, seeing each other every so often. took her to dinner, couple movies, generic fun stuff. Didn't really seem to be going anywhere to tell the truth.

And then theres the other girl. (B, perhaps) We were dating for the better part of a year in 2010 and we did pretty much everything together. Things went downhill (bit of a high-maintenance type) and we broke up. I never really got completely over her though and was always unsure about the breakup. She came back into my life recently, and we fooled around a little and I sort of asked her if she wanted to get back together with me. (stupidly) She said she would think about it, and when we see each other face to face again (tomorrow) she would let me know.

Cut back to A, we were hanging out just today, and we clicked more than we usually would. we talked for hours and cuddled and I had a lot of fun. I can see myself with this girl having a good relationship...I've got history with B and I care about her a lot, but at the same time I feel like I'm living in the past.

tl;dr: get back together with ex or move on and figure out how to tell her that I shouldn't have said the things I did.

Well I don't know if I could help much.

People don't change, especially girls if we feel we are right about something, we will always feel that way.
So these problems with girl b will happen all over again because she will still be high maintenance.
Although, who knows she may have and things may work out even better than before.

Just make sure she isn't dating you because she is between other people right now, as in recently out of a relationship.

See how things work out tomorrow and if you really think she is the one you want to be with go for it.
If you feel like girl A might be more suited for you, then choose her.

If you have any doubts they aren't right for you.

Sounds like you were attracted to B but then as your body started settling down and leaving the initial excitement phase you discovered you weren't compatible in certain ways. Now that you've been away from B for enough time, your body's going back into the early phase again so it seems more exciting than it would, and you're tempted to ignore the problems. I'd expect if you got back together with B you'd find that in about a year things fall apart again. As for A, there's probably no way for us to provide a good perspective, since there's no history. But if it seems promising, it might be the safer route since at least it hasn't failed yet.

Then again, the longer you stay with A, the worse it'll be if you then decide to move to B.

Of course this is all a very cold, scientific analysis since I'm still with my first g/f myself, so I've never had a breakup.

Go with girl C. If you're not going anywhere with girl A, and girl B didn't work out before then that seems like the best option to me.

Date both! As long as they don't know each other, you should be okay, especially if you can be upfront with both of them and say that you're seeing someone else right now but you also really want to spend time with her. Even if it crashes and burns eventually, you will have achieved baller status.

Move on. You kids don't need to be getting back together with exes. Responsibly, like ninja said, girls don't change. You need a 10 year waiting period for that. And if you have to come here to ask. Obviously you are already on the fence. Find someone new. blah blah blah. Or play them both. You're young, nothing wrong with that.

believe me, I've thought about "playing them both" and my relationship with A is nothing serious- I wouldn't be mad if she was with other guys or vice versa, but B is someone for better or for worse I could never do that to. It's sort of feast or famine with her. I guess I'll just go see her and figure it out then.

Speaking from age and hopefully wisdom, I agree with Fail. Move on.

I agree with Godmin, start finding girl C. If girl B is still cool with fooling around with you while looking for girl C, that's cool too.

And not to sound like an old (in gamer years) and bitter man, but there are a couple relationships when I wish I had someone to tell me to move on, so yeah, move on. You'll thank us in 5 years.

Happily, it worked itself out. B doesn't want a relationship (I can still fool around with her though, as ex's do) and A isn't looking for a serious relationship (I can fool around with EVERYONE and no one can be mad) and if C does come along then we've got ourselves a sexy party!
this is probably my best-case scenario anyhow.

Guy, women have two orifices so there's no need to share. And second, I'm very secure in my sexuality, but that doesn't mean I want my balls smacking into another guys balls, even if there is a girl involved.
