I think the only people who watch it are generally in their 20s or older. MLP has a ton of references to shows, movies and culture that someone whos younger might not get, and they do it in a way thats funny to us. Some say "well its a kids show! Why would you like a kids show!" Anyone here like Ice age or any of those movies? Just because its made for kids doesn't mean only kids can watch it.

I personally don't get the whole Brony thing. That being said I had never seen an episode of MLP so I went out to the intarwebz to find some episodes. I've watched a few and I haven't seen any humor in them yet. Maybe it's more subtle than how much I'm paying attention to it? I plan on watching a few more episodes and seeing if I can pick up any humor. While I'm not bored while watching so far, I'm not really entertained either.

Also, Bronies, more power to you. Thankfully, since there isn't a Brony holding a gun to my head, I can choose whether or not I want to read any MLP related posts. Maybe Spyder is being held hostage and that's why he's so bitter against the show and its fans.

Here's the thing. If you like the cartoon, fine. But if you want to be "shown respect" for liking the show, then you need to show respect to everyone else by not shoving the fucking fandom down our throats.

Who here on CSn has forced, or even suggested you post/look at the MLP threads? You have it backwards, you feel a compulsive need to voice your dislike for it. People like to talk about things that they like, and the more they like something, the more they like to talk about it. As long as there are people who like MLP, there will be MLP talk. As long as there are lots and lots of people who really like MLP, there will be lots of MLP talk. You're completely welcome to ignore it if you don't like it, but since this is a (relatively) public message board, you will sometimes run into conversations between other people about ponies; they're not intended for you, in almost every situation, you've just stumbled into them like a person stumbling into a conversation in a subway or school hallway.

We all stumble into conversations we're not comfortable with, or that just plain bore us. The best thing to do is usually to just back away slowly and move on like nothing happened without involving yourself in the situation; that way you can get on with your life.

Honestly Spyder, with all the time and thought you've spent discussing how tired of mlp you are, you probably talk about ponies more than a lot of bronies that I know. That seems like a sign that you're letting your focus on hating the show actually involve you further into the show (which also gives you more hate to focus on and thus a further involvement..etc). Perhaps you should go back and read the second post I made in this thread. I know little to nothing about the show. I've been talking about the fanbase the entire time.

Talking about mlp fans without talking about mlp is like talking about US Senators without talking about the US Senate. While it's technically possible, it actually takes far more focus on the subject matter, and much more effort, than just talking about the actual thing. You have to use a lot of vague pronouns too. There's ponies in every post you're making here; you even linked to a pony unboxing video from McDonalds (one that you had to go out and get, I might add.). While we're on the subject, even though it's a totally awesome Dexter's Lab reference, you do have a pony in your sig too.

I may have the opinion that many things in the world can exert negative influences the right (or wrong) situations, but the things I actually go out and straight-up criticize for their existance are few and far between, and tend to be topics I've studied rigorously. That portion was addressed those of us who have made a pastime studying the impact of mlp on differing kinds of people, but it laymen terms, while you don't "like" the show, it is taking up a growing portion of your time/life, and is changing who you are as a person the more you focus on (not liking) it. For better or worse, nobody can say.

My main problem is when ponies has to take part of everything a brony/mlp does.

Ninja is my prime example. Avatar, Signature, most forum responses and her chrome filter all involve ponies. Whereas I don't have much of a problem with that in general, seeing as, y'know, "you love what you love, therefore, love it", it seems a bit excessive to a near brink of obsession when it takes over nearly everything you do and reference.

I'm not going to slate MLP fans, because they're stuck up their own ass about ponies and it's impossible to break any other thought into them, but that's what they love. I would just rather it be toned down. Not everything has to revolve around ponies, and I wish some people would understand that. Obviously I speak for myself, and many others, on that matter, but that won't change anything.

It just seems weird that people put so much time into changing or enhancing something they enjoy (TF2, example) and having to add ponies all over it. It baffles me. I enjoy many things, and very much so. I just don't understand how anyone can enjoy something THAT MUCH that it takes over nearly everything else.

I hate the show and it's fandom annoys the fucking shit out of me. But tolerance and ignorance usually gets you through. Take it from me Spyder, drop it and leave it. Make a snide remark every so often to make a brony rage, but don't go out of your way to tell them how much of a dickhead they are or whatever.
