My Mic

by Prof_Schwartz » Sat Mar 17, 2012 9:16 am

Ok so lately I haven't been using my mic (plugged in) since in the past couple of weeks the mic has gone really silent. I have the transmit volume up and it's close to my mouth, and it comes out really REALLY low. I also have another mic connected to my iPod headphones, and the same thing happens, so I don't believe it's the microphone that's fucked up. When i use my built in mic it sounds fine, besides the crappy built-in mic tone.

So in the end I believe it's my microphone jack in my laptop, which I'm worried about, cause I don't want to go out and buy a new mic if it's the jack on the side of my laptop. How do i get that fixed? Am i completely screwed? I don't want to spend a ton of money getting it fixed cause it's clearly something internal....

Thanks for any feedback, I really appreciate it :)

Yea, like everything you can spend as much as you want, but a lot of people actually have this one http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-981-0002 ... 940&sr=8-1

I got a new one, and people say I have it in my mouth when I talk.

I changed all the settings to low and everything lol. USB mics are the best!
What do you mean syringes don't go there? I am the doctor here... they go where I say they go.

That would be me. Just hit "test mic" under voice some time and make your own judgement of how it sounds, maybe I'm just picky.

I know, I'm working on it. I'm not sure why you're taking personal offense over hardware. Might as well get defensive about me calling your monitor bland.

No, really. Wasn't trying to come across as anything of a douche-type.

If you're buying a desktop mic rather than a headset, please do me and everyone else a favour and wear headphones too.

The amount of pricks that use desktop/laptop mics with their speakers right up is phenomenal. I do not enjoy hearing my own voice coming back to me, or the sound of you getting killed through your mic.

Although I've never noticed this problem with you anyway, Schwartz, so I'll trust you're not a cockend.
