the best paint ball in Chicago.... Oh yah!

Talk about random stuff that has nothing to do with TF2 or other games.

I like this place, but its soooooooo expensive. Expect to drop AT LEAST $80 for the day.

This is definitely the place to go for themed woods ball though, its just not my thing.

Speedball is where its at. Just saying ;)

EDIT: In bedlam, get the post office second story. post office = victory.
Also, if there is a game in wastelands you want to go. best field there. *Disclaimer* they renamed it "Wastelands" because you waste all your paint there.

I thought mounds was the waste of ammo.

CPX is expensive. But everything is more expensive since the last time I played (5-6 years ago.) I would go to this place on the south side. Indoor something. It was the first day so it was buy 1 get 1. But high winds and 3 people who never played before... Went through 2 cases of balls. I used maybe 500 over 4 rounds. They used over 3k.... Only the 5th guy had a decent (non-rental) gun. But the winds made it useless.
There was also some retarded airsoft thing going on. At least 200 of these idiots. Some dude had a 400 dollar airsoft sniper rifle. Asking him what the range was.. 75 feet. His respawn was 10 minutes. Eat that vanilla TF2.

Any suggestions on better places around Chicago? Not really a fan of speedball. Kinda has the same effect of 5cp maps in TF2 for me. Woodsball gets interesting especially with longer games. (and a flag.)
I need to start looking at a marker and some gear. I hate renting crap.

My favorite place is fox valley paintball park.

Its more of a family owned place, not as "developed" i guess as CPX. But the built environments are still pretty awesome. Best part about it is $30 admission and Bring Your Own Paint. They do the big scenario games every now and then and use all their fields. Its a moderately big place with 3 or 4 speedball* courses and a ton of woodsball. If you plan on making the trek out there try to do it when it hasn't rained for a while. The place is right on a river so sometimes it floods. I mean, unless mud is your kind of thing, haha.

Also the rental guns kinda suck. they look like some guy bought a bunch of pipes and welded them into paintball guns. So needless to say, this place kinda expects you to have your own stuff. Hell if you even wanted to bring a grill and cook out in the parking lot/table area they'd be cool with it.

*some of the speedball courses don't use the air-bunkers. they use large coregated tubing, which kinda gives them a woodsball feel. one course called Tombstone is like that and is definitely worth a couple of rounds.

As for gear, tippman's are always a good woodsball gun. durable, easy to hold, and most take CO2 as well as compressed air (compressed air is better for the gun but the tanks are more expensive) and you can probably get one off ebay for real cheap. other than that get yourself a comfy mask and a barrel condom and you'll be all set.

My last gun was a tippman 98 but was 5 years old when i bought it 8 years ago. So 4 generations ago? lol. Mud is fine. haha. That place is farther than cpx though. Not out of the question, but I'd have to wait for my friends to get decent gear. By that I mean something that isn't complete crap. Anything over 100 bucks generally is a waste for what we'd do. I guess it won't be windy forever.

I have to say the 1 thing that hasn't changed. Little kids with gear worth more than their lives. Out of 6 rounds i get shot twice. By these kids I can't see. And in the back...
