Forum Game:Mafia

I played this once on another forum and its really fun. If you guys are up for it I would love to host it.

Basically it's a battle between an informed minority and an uninformed majority. Players are secretly assigned roles: either "mafia", who know each other; or "townspeople", who know only the number of mafia amongst them. The towns people also have a doctor who can save someone and a detective who can try and guess to see who is in the mafia. In the game's "night" phase the mafia covertly 'murder' a townsperson. During the day phase, all of the surviving players debate the identities of the mafia and vote to eliminate a suspect. Play continues until all of the mafia have been eliminated, or until the mafia outnumber the townspeople. A typical game starts with seven townspeople and two Mafiosi.

If you guys wanna try it, make a post. First come first serve, if you fail your duties you will obviously be removed from the story. We can start with the basic 7 townspeople and 2 mafia. Depending on the length of the game we can increase the number of players. I'll make a steam group for easy communication. If this works, we can have one game each week with new players!

I've played this with friends, it's a lot of fun, especially that awesome when this cute girl you know saves you..........anyway sure I'll play.

Could we do this ingame with ubers, spies and backstabs? that would be so freaking awesome.....Oh man any mod makes here should so freaking make that work.

The spies could be the mafia, the kill could be a silent backstab, and the medic could uber someone to save them. Town's people's views would have to be obstructed. The detective could be a pyro who burns someone to death, you could tell from the corpse if they were in the mafia or not.

I think I've prepared everything, I just need my players. I've invited those playing to the steam group. The game will not start until everyone is in that group.

Screams echo throughout the village. The townspeople throw on their robes and run outside to see the commotion. There is a body floating in the pond. Those weak look fearfully from great distance, a few creep forward to examine the body only to see the mayor with cuts over his body and a hole in his stomach. "There has been a murder!" screamed on of the townspeople. Being such a small community of only 9 the people begin to look fearfully among each other. Any one of them could of been the killer. Some began to bring the body back to shore. Then someone cried out, "LOOK there's a note!" This is what it says...

We have fallen victim to the Mafia. Two of them have been living amongst us all this time. Their plan is to take our little village. Each night they will take a life until they outnumber the villagers. There is no escape... You only chance of living is to find out who is Mafioso by killing one person each night. But be careful! Don't take too many innocent lives

The villagers begin to panic. Some become anxious, no one is to be trusted. They then agree to wait until tomorrow until they start voting on who is Mafioso and go back to sleep to try and protect themselves from the Mafia. Everyone slowly creeps back to their house. Later that night the two Mafia members meet to discuss their next move. They then decide to proceed as planned, but not tonight, they need to rest their faces so that they are not suspected.

The sun rises. All the townspeople gather in the square and look around. 9 people, there hasn't been a murder yet. But the Mafia is still hiding among them. They then decide they will vote in the evening on who they will kill off. Now, however, they will discuss for they don't want to be too irrational...

As the sun falls behind the mountains the townspeople open the box and count the ballots. They separate each one into its own pile. The largest stack has 3 crumpled pieces of paper, all with the name DUCK. "NO NOT THE HAT-SMITH! IT COULDN'T BE!", cried a townsperson. Duck looks around nervously, his bubble pipe was sliding off his head. "Come on, I made all those hats! It couldn't of been me YOU CAN'T DO THIS!". Reluctantly they grabbed duck and tied him to a nearby stake. They then places his own hats all around him and set fire to them. Not even the ghastly gibus could deafen his screams. The villagers rejoice as Duck burns among his own hats, thinking that they have rid of one Mafioso then a voice booms down from the sky.

"Foolishly you have killed one of your own! How could you suspect a humble hat-maker like Duck? Now 8 of you remain and you still have two Mafioso among you. Now sleep, for it is night time...."

The villagers left saddened at their mistake and trembled back to there homes. The sun has finally set making Duck's Bill's hat the only light in the sky. They villagers were then haunted by quacks in there dreams.

The villagers awake to dark clouds, rain pounding down on the rooftops. They all gather at the inn but immediately they discover one person is missing. Frantically they storm over to Noes's house(thatguywhoeats). They run through the already destroyed doorway and immediately see a trail of blood leading them to the bedroom. They slowly walk over and nudge the door open only to behold the gruesome sight. There was nose, dangling from the fan on the ceiling by his legs, the fan was still rotating very slowly. There we bruises all over his body and a bloody stick laid bare on the floor. The townspeople become even more anxious as their numbers began to shrink. They take the body outside and dig a muddy hole, tossing the body down and covering it back up only to have the rain to stop and the sun rising shortly after. Today is the beginning of a new day, a new day where they will have to again, try to figure out who are the Mafioso among them.

He'll be watching alright. I say this man is the most suspicious so far based on posts. Him and medkitz. Those are my guesses.

They lay out the cards once again, trembling, wondering if they will be the next one to die. They separate the cards, CASH comes up as a majority. He stumbles back.."No....no no, this is crazy! I'm innocent, he started walking away from the crowd, none of them wanted Cash to go but his fate was decided. "NOOOOOO, I WON'T DIE'" He pulls out a dented black frying pan. "STOUT STOUT SHAKO!" yells Cash. The villagers were filled with fear for they thought he had completely lost it. "He's obviously been the murderer look at those dents on his pan! And now he's going to kill all of us!" screamed a townsperson. "TWO REFINED...DEMOPAN DEMOPAN TWO REF ARGGGHHGHGHGHG...!" His rants were cut short because just then, a villager, who had sneaked behind him, thrusted a knife through his back and killed him. The villagers immediately felt despair for one of their beloved had fallen. But they started to feel better, for they had thought that they had for certain killed a Mafioso. However a chuckling voice from above informed them.

"You have not learned from your mistakes. Cash was innocent the whole time. He loved that pan, he has had that ever since he was a wee lad and the dents were just wear and tear, not evidence of a crime. Now you live among 6 others and you still haven't discovered the Mafioso. They plan to take another life tonight and there is little you can do to prevent it. All you can do return to your homes, now sleep for it is nighttime..."

The villagers horrified at their misfortune were again haunted that night, only this time by the sounds of clanging metal and shouts of Stout Shakos for 2 refined.

As the sun falls each villager is in their respective houses. Some are able to cope and fall asleep. One of them decides to take a walk to hopefully get rid of some of the stress. He walks along the road and through the forest, then suddenly he hears explosions. "booommmm smash", the villager begins to panic. "boooooooMMM SMASH", the noises become louder, someone is getting closer. Without hesitation he runs towards his house, 3rd on the left from the lamp post. "BOOOMMMM!!" he looks up and stares straight into the moonlight. "SPLAT" A pair of brown army looking boots were the last thing he saw. Among all the explosion, each villager is sitting cowardly inside their house. They know someone has died, but they have no will to investigate for fear of facing the murderer. They all wait for sunrise. At last the night ends and the villagers rise with the sun. They awake very reluctantly, most don't even bother getting dressed because they already know what they have to face. They look around but don't see anything immediately until one villager yells "LOOK HE'S IN THE GROUND". The all ran towards scene and gasped at the horror. Protruding from the ground was the head of SPIDEY MAN(BaggerVance). He had a man-tread footprint in the middle of his head and there were rocket launcher casings spent all over the ground. They were all too shocked at the sight that they just covered his head with dirt and went back to their homes.

P I K M I N runs over to Meh's house. He bangs on the door. "THE MAFIA ARE COMING FOR YOU IM SURE" The door opens slowly, "really...?" a creepy Meh responds. P I K M I N walks through and touchy slams the door behind him. Meh puts a gun to his head. "Don't worry about the mafia buddy." and pulls the trigger. Maniacal laughter fills the house. The Mafia have successfully avoided death and now only Zero remains. Conveniently he is outside and Meh calls him over saying he's found the Mafioso. Zero runs over and out of breath demains to see what Meh is talking about. Touchy then takes out a spy-cicle and says," Right behind you". Zero is immediately frozen where he stands and Meh pushes him over. Both laugh and cheer for they are the only ones left in the village. The Mafia has won. The game is over

*Flare shot is heard in the distance*

*Touchy dies to the unknown flare shot while Meh watches*

Meh : *Panic*
Meh hears another incoming flare.
Meh begins to run indoors and once he does he shuts the door and begins searching for his dead ringer.
Suddenly... Meh smells something peculiar.... Almost like... Gasoline...
!!!!!!
A match is thrown from a nearby stranger, and the house lights on fire and the cries of Meh are heard.


Medkitz grasping his stolen Dead Ringers walks off with his fixed Flare gun, and prepares for the following days to come.....
