What is the official spelling of dammit, damnit damn it

i have seen many variations of the word, or two words or whatever so what is the spelling

Well damn has its roots as a verb, and as the current vernacular seems to have evolved out of a degredation/casualisation of the term, I believe that the technically correct use of it is to damn something. IE: "damn the weather", "damn this cough", "Work you stupid game! Damn it!"

In modern vernacular though, it exists mainly as a recently evolved phonetic convention; dammit and damnit are about as right for the word as owned and pwnt are for their expressions.

I generally use "dammit" when I don't want to look genuinely angry, otherwise I use two words.
