Favorite Movie/TV Soundtracks

Talk about random stuff that has nothing to do with TF2 or other games.

Favorite Movie/TV Soundtracks

This is a spinoff of Spyder's spinoff of the "what the heck are you listening to thread?". Pretty straight forward. Just say what films or TV shows had great music in you're mind.

I'm personally a sucker for Jason Reitman's films, and Juno and Up In The Air had really fucking good soundtracks. Sure, most of the songs are licensed, but the way they are used are perfect.

Genova - Charles Atlas

Help Yourself - Sad Brad Smith

All I Want Is You - Barry Louis Polisar

The Wrestler is easily one of my favorite movies of all time, and the song that Bruce Springsteen wrote for it was just so damn good that whenever I hear it, I still choke up a little bit.

The Wrestler - Bruce Springsteen

Up is fucking awesome, and so is this song. 'Nuff said.

Married Life - Michael Giacchino

This song from Battlestar Galactica not only is fucking great as a song period, but it actually is a huge part of the plot in the later seasons. One of my personal favorites.

Kara Remembers - Bear McCreary

Anyway, that's what I can think of at the moment. Show me what you guys got.

I liked the Charles Atlas piece.

Brick.

Too many to list. So, I'll go with one from my favorite movie.

OOH OOH I JUST REMEMBERED ANOTHER ONE! You guys ever seen Moon? If you haven't fix that. It's fucking awesome. Anyway, the main theme for that emphasizes the themes of that movie: loneliness, the vastness of space, etc. Also, it was composed by Charles Mansell, who is easily one of the best film composers of our time.

Welcome To Lunar Industries - Clint Mansell

Plus there is that one song that at this point is really overused, but for a good reason: Lux Aeterna.

Well. I won't add Requiem for a Dream. It's one of my favorites though.

Cowboy Bebop (TV)/ Movie: Best OST EVER. I have every song ever from cowboy bebop. It doesn't have the shit music normal animes do. The music appeals to me because New Age Jazz/ Jazz/ Electronica are my favorite.

Inception- Great Soundtrack for epic moments.

Tron Legacy- Only because of Daft Punk.

Glee- Yes, I love the show. Haters gonna hate.

El laberinto del fauno- One of the highest rated movies of all time. The soundtrack's brilliance equals that of the movie.

Sin Nombre- I love this movie, and you should too.

I have more. But, I guess these will do.

Up is the only movie (ever) that made me cry right off the bat. That opening with him and his wife destroyed me.

Same. Hell, it still gets to me. Toy Story 3 does the same thing at the end. That kid is so fucking cute. There is absolutely no way that ending could be any happier.

I was 9 or 10 when this soundtrack came out. I remember buying it just for the Everclear track after hearing it on the radio, but I went out and searched for more from most of the other artists featured on the soundtrack. I haven't thought about this album for years, so I'll probably have to go and.. uhhhhm.. legitimately purchase it... yeesss.. Anyway, love me some 90's nostalgia.

Totally forgot about one of my personal favorite composers, Ennio Morricone. You may recognize him from the Dollars trilogy, which has my personal favorite western in it, The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. Here are some of my favorite pieces/songs/music thingies.

L'Estasi Dell'Oro (The Ecstasy of Gold) - Ennio Morricone

Il Buono, Il Cattivo, Il Brutto (The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly - Ennio Morricone

Also, here is the theme from The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, as performed by the awesome Ukulele Orchestra Of Great Britain.

Lastly, here is another favorite of mine from Kill Bill.

Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down) - Nancy Sinatra
