Some Mormons started talking to me as I was getting on the subway. He started laying his schtick on, so I interrupted him and asked him about the golden tablets that can only be read with the magic decoder glasses given to him by an angel with your wife on the other side of a curtain taking dictation. Oh, and what happened when people said he was full of shit and that if he was actually reading from the Golden Tablets that no one else had ever seen, even though if they contained the whole book of Mormon then they must be pretty fucking huge, then he could do a second dictation and they would be exactly the same. Then, mysteriously, the first copy of the Book of Mormon completely fucking vanished so that the two could never be compared.

I ended by telling him, "And just for the record, Native Americans are not the evil 7th (I think it's the 7th) lost tribe of the Israelites, that was just some bullshit John Smith told people so that they wouldn't feel bad about fucking the Native Americans out of their land as they got pushed further and further West by Mormon haters."

Funny, him and his buddy didn't have much to say after that.

The only religious that will ever occur in my religion is, "Was that a dick move?" I really don't care if it ends up being a sham of a religion or not. I find Mormons to be the kindest people I've ever met. Their charities in the state of Utah are unmet by any other organization that I've come in contact with. They've done a lot for my family and for that I will always be grateful. I'm actually disgusted by how much people mock the religion, who cares if YOU don't believe in it? It's produced some of the greatest people I know and they happily follow the religious rules. If someone is happy why be inconsiderate towards it. Maybe some people should keep their snide and disrespectful comments to themselves? I am a Mormon. Maybe I wear that tag more because of their views on life more so than the "retirement" benefits.

Before you say "I don't know how people can believe this stuff.." how about you actually learn about it instead of taking the comments off of youtube and using that as your source.

And Ackbar, for the record I mock all religions that are backward-conservative and out of touch with the 21st century. Pretty much all evangelical Christians, but since we don't have many Southern Baptists on this message board (are they even allowed to own computers?), it doesn't come up that much.

Also, and religion who thinks they are the only "correct" religion and everyone else is going to Hell is straight up wrong. With the multitude of diverse people on this planet in diverse locations, why would an omnipotent being think that "one size fits all" would be a good strategy.
