And why did one of my students ask if he could skip a paper because he's military, but he's not deploying? Am I bitch for telling him no? I think not. I am a bitch, but I reserve the right to fail my students for being pricks.

Certainly. I should be used to soldier's by now. But, most of them are insanely polite and get their work done on time or early. This one though, he is a pos. We are three days into a 5 week class and he's missed a day. I allow 3 absences (which is abnormally high for a summer class) and I don't accept most excuses. :/

I hope by the end of this year I will finish my graduate degree (but then I start my long journey to a PhD). I never take summer classes so I can work during the summer. I'm an adjunct professor. It basically means I do bitch work for little pay, but I get experience.

Right. I forgot your American scholarship takes you much less time to complete than ours... The official reason why we have need more years to study to complete the same level of scholarship than you is bullshit at my opinion. I hardly critic something so heavily, but 2 additional years of scolarship only to help us mature is a dumb reason to make you lose 2 years of your life. You are mature enough or you aren't. Life makes sure you learn a lesson from your mistakes. You'll learn sooner, later or never to be mature, but 2 whole school years for that is meaningless...

I think I should correct myself here. I just walked for my Bachelors this past May. I had to wait due to program study conflicts. I started my graduate degree last year when I techinically was still an undergrad. My school fucked a lot of my information up. I think American Universities are good at fucking things up. I should also emphasize that I teach enhanced classes (High school level college courses). I help students who lack neccessary skills to advance into normal English classes. I specialize in Spanish/ Portuguese classes because It's what I speak, and they like to abuse me. I do get paid. I'm a glorified high school teacher to adults. I'm not really that cool. I think I sounded pompous. That's no bueno!

Edit: I also teach playwrighting (it's no biggy). They needed a person with a degree in creative writing. I was a favorite in the department. I only teach playwrighting as a joint class with English. That means there is another professor (with a PhD) with me.
