Who the KKK or WBC?
Admiral Ackybur wrote:Westboro is full of idiots and really needs to burn down with every one of them inside. It makes me sick on some of the things they do. Who the fuck protests in a town that was demolished by a tornado? WBC in Joplin does.

If looked at objectively their views on the world stem from the most literal interpretations of the modern Christian bible. I can understand Maringue's feelings on the matter and while the utopian peace-loving Christianity is one that's been most popularized lately, the truth of the matter is that supposing God exists and he is the Judeo-Christian form that most of us identify with the bible, he's filled with the hateful sentiments that the WBC members make very public.
It fits in your butt

The pastor and members of the westboro baptist church are using literal interpretation of old testament scripture where most of the world would choose to use a more veiled interpretations, or none at all. The christian god the bible describes is one of contradiction and a mass of emotions. There's a bunch of not-so-awesome stuff in there that people don't like to talk about on sunday. YMMV of course.

I'm not personally advocating opposing the WBC, I just meant to say that there is always something (not necessarily an effective something) that can be done.

I don't know what the EFF is (maybe because I don't live in USA), but it sounds like a good organization. Frankly, if you did something for your community and fight for your beliefs, it makes you a valuable human being.
I don't remember who first said that humans are defined by their actions, but I DO believe it's true. If you do nothing, you are nothing. That's the sad truth I realized during my yet young life.

I don't support social advocacy just for the sake of it but it is idealistic to think that you'll never run into someone with the initiative and authority to tell you to stop doing something you want to do.
Even still, all of these silly discussions will be rendered moot when the zombie apocalypse comes.

Voters :3
Admiral Ackybur wrote:Rarely does that really matter. Sure I like voting for regional comptroller but that's really the only time do we get a say.

It's religion. Faith is one of the most illogical concepts we've been able to come up with.

Actually, I think exactly the other way around. I'd tend to say the real problem is that religion and faith are the most logical concepts humans ever came up with. That's what scares me at night... o.o
