Careful out there. I certainly can't defend the fact that Sora no Otoshimono doesn't have the most subtile and intelligent sense of humor, but it is more intelligent than what you could glimpse with these simple pictures I put here. The humor in this series is actually on par the theme of the series: "You must accept your sexual pulsions since they are part of you."

The main character is considered as a real hero because he accepts his human nature to its fullest and is presented as having a free and kind spirit (of course, human nature is especially developped around its perverted side). The story is also somewhat touching as the main character has to take care of young girl angels that were giving to him by some "mother angel". The "Paradise" these angels come from is quite corrupted and angels are treated as slaves. The first angel the main character has to take care of is Ikaros. She was used as a deadly weapon that had to genocide entire races. She has no emotions at first. Thanks to the main character true self and kind side, she learns about happiness, something she never knew about in that "Paradise". Since the main character is so kind, she starts being afraid of telling him about her past as a murderer since she doesn't want him to hate her... That's the basic plot of the beginning of the series. Other angels join Ikaros at the side of the character during the series, all having a bad experience in "Paradise".

One kid angel in particular kept a little bird in "Paradise". Her master wanted to hurt her badly for his own pleasure. He ordered her to snatch the bird's wings with her bare hands. When I saw that part in the anime, I seriously was about to cry for 1)An animal getting killed in such a terrible way and 2)A little girl forced to kill her pet...

It's not a stupid series at all. It's all about accepting your true self. The first picture I posted on this topic demonstrate the symbolic of that. Why a winged manhood? Look at the character's face. He's serene. He's free. He accepts his sexual pulsions to their fullest. Serisouly, during my classes in school, I was just about to do a psychoanalysis on Sora no Otoshimono (Freud has a lot of theories based on sexual pulsions if you are not aware).

I'm not saying this series is SO DAMN INTELLIGENT AND BRILLANT. Of course not. But ya know, don't judge before watching. This series somewhat served me understanding my psychoanlysies classes and even managed to make me cry. The story is touching even if retarded at times.

And even though the main character is a retarded pervert, he's mainly a real hero. He saves none of the girl angels for "favors" but simply because he believes they deserve happiness like any human. If anything, I believe he's the real type of hero everyone should try to be. No kidding. Trust me, I don't study literature to be impressed with just any shitty anime with shitty character development. o.o

But yeah.... Lots of sexuality related jokes. lol

Seriously, when was the last time you got on a plane and saw a woman in the cockpit? It's because the pilot uses his magical cock-wings to fly the plane, the engines are just for show. Also, cockwings are why it's called the cockpit.

But on a slightly more serious note, there's good anime out there but there's also a lot of baaaad anime out there. Personally I love some of the good stuff; it's fun stuff to watch while you do drugs.

On a more serious note: Kids, don't do drugs. Finish all your homework and studying first, then you can do drugs.

An anime, in my opinion, is like a book: There's lots of generic bad ones out there, but when you find one you like, it's an enriching experience. Every once and a while, you'll find a truly amazing one that might even change how you see the world.
