Seth Macfarlane to reboot The Flintstones

Talk about random stuff that has nothing to do with TF2 or other games.

Seth Macfarlane to reboot The Flintstones

OK I enjoy some of his work. But this definitely doesn't fit into his style.
We all know what Seth writes.

Let's clear it up. Then ask yourself can he do the Flintstones?

Seth Macfarlane is about as funny as watching someone step in a dog turd. Yeah, it's funny for the first 10 seconds, but you don't want to let it into your house. The man hasn't had an original idea in 5 years. I could come up with better jokes by shaking up a box of fridge poetry magnets and reading the results.

I agree, not excited, but I really stopped caring about the guy ages ago. I've previously stated my feeling about his shows somewhere on here (I'll go find my exact statement in a bit), so I really don't care. I just think its a shame that a truly funny guy like Seth writes some of the worst shows ever. Compare his roasting of the Donald to an episode of American Dad and it becomes clear which is funnier very soon.

Found it:

We were talking about our favorite shows at the time, and Unicorn popped in to say his piece, and it went from there.

Maybe it's because Family Guy is a not funny show with terrible writing where the jokes have no relevance to the plot and the characters are literally nothing like they were originally designed? Or is it because the show is overrated and me and the rest of the world are sick and tired of the few funny jokes regurgitated over and over again so they aren't funny anymore? Or is it that it and it's two spinoffs consistently cause other better shows with slightly worse rating to get canceled, like say Arrested Development? The only reason why Fox hasn't cancelled their only good show left, The Simpsons, for a 3rd unfunny Family Guy spinoff is because it manages to still pull in better ratings and it has supreme seniority over all animated shows.

Fox keeps canceling better shows while keeping Seth's pile 'o shit works because of one word. Money. They already pay Seth a salary, and animated shows are sooooooo much cheaper to make than pretty much anything else, save reality TV. Family Guy went from edgy comedy to random bullshit that doesn't make sense. Honestly in hind sight, it and all of it's crappy permutations should have stayed canceled the first time. When Family Guy got canceled, he decided to pitch the exact same show with a different name to Fox. They ate it up. Then, when Family Guy came back, they decided to take a show that didn't have that many viewers (at the time) and make a spin-off of a secondary character that not many people thought was funny.

If I were a TV show writer/creator, I would rather take an icepick to the left testicle rather than pitch my show to Fox.

I found the Comedy Central roasts by Seth to be funnier than anything else he came up with. It's a matter of time until Family Guy dies, with American Dad and Cleveland Show soon to follow suit.

Anyways, back on topic. In general, I don't really like the idea of reviving cartoons a lot of us grew up with. Scooby Doo isn't the same as it was when Hanna and Barbara were alive. I'm not catching the new Thundercats at all. If they were to revive Looney Tunes and make it "age appropriate by today's standards," I would do whatever it takes to shut down the studio behind it. (I'm not counting Back in Action) I wouldn't mind reboots if people were to do it justice, but no. A lot of people just do it for the money.

Seth isn't really the head writer of these shows. Watch the credits and you'll see that he's listed as the creator and the producer - of course he wrote most of the old Family Guy jokes, but he moves on and lets other saps fumble around with the characters.

I agree that he's a funny guy, but he sticks his name on things that really just put him to shame.

JFK's foot was awesome. Also, that was a totally accurate portrayal of the Fox Sunday lineup, especially once they stop airing the Simpsons.
