Ah, I think I remember this guy. He published a book on the subject a few years ago and ran an ad for it in Guideposts.
I guess the only surefire way to prove him wrong is to wait until the 21st rolls around and just live.
There was a similar cult that claimed Judgment Day was coming on October 28, 1992. As always, they were wrong, and the guy who headed the operation went to prison.

It's not that someone is LOSING money, the issue is that someone may be GAINING money by uploading and sharing stolen content. That was the whole premise behind Ebaum's World; users would steal content and upload it onto the site, then Eric Bauman would make millions of dollars off advertising revenue. He eventually sold the domain name for $18 million; that's how powerful he became. Something Awful and Newgrounds waged an all-out war against Ebaum's in the mid-2000s; Neil Cicierega even wrote a song about it.
I highly suspect that Mad Anthony may be creating these spam threads and posts because he's getting paid to do so.

I don't give two shits if he is making money off it. I find his reposts entertaining and funny, hell I hope he gets paid for it! He's giving me (and others) stuff to look at during the work day. You keep saying that, but when you make something and someone else steals it and makes money off of it, you'll understand my position. I am a semi-retired Flash artist and I have firsthand experience of the kind of hurt people like Eric Bauman and Mad Anthony here have caused.
