This was fun for me. Between the 7 foot snowdrift in my alley. 2 feet fell in my front yard. The power went out for the night. Oddly my 'bity saturn was able to get out on the road quicker than my woman's 4x4. 1000s of people stranded on Lake Shore Drive.

I got a kick out of this.
The 30 minute "thunder snow" was cool.
I'm confused about the Smart Car that's functioning in anything other than sunny weather.

i got 15 inchs in Tulsa, Oklahoma yesterday (the 1st) with snow drifts about 3-4 feet high

I only now got hit by it. However, there is one difference: instead of snow being a problem, it's ice. Only today was I able to venture out into the world since the roads were blanketed with an inch-thick layer of ice all day yesterday. My brother and I have missed a total of 3 days of school this week as of tomorrow.

At RPI we actually had canceled classes (apparently been a long while since that's happened). Other than no classes (I only had a 1 hour recitation at 1PM anyway) I obviously had no problems staying in my dorm all cozy and safe. College life FTW.

I also took advantage of the no classes to spend the previous night playing AC2 from 9:30PM till 6:30 AM. Woke up at 3PM. Seriously enjoying that game.

We get snow, but it freezes over, and the super winds of South Dakota picks up all the snow and moves it to the west.
However, -40 to -8 degree weather all week isnt fun at all.

even in 2006 when hawaii had 40 days and 40 nights of nonstop rain, they didnt cancel school
all the malls were flooded, roads were closed, but nooooooo we still had school

If you live somewhere that knows how to deal with snow, a modest amount can be fun. Unfortunately I live in DC, so the slightest amount of snow causes a total cluster fuck.

Last year we got back to back storms (about a week apart) that each dropped 2 feet of snow on my house. It only took the county a week after the second snowstorm to come plow us out. Fortunately my girlfriend had a Jeep that could make it out for beer runs, otherwise my roommates and I might have killed each other. But since we shotgunned a beer after every shoveling trip (about every hour so we could keep up), it made it a little better.

I live somewhere that knows how to deal with snow, and only causes closures if it's white out conditions (lol 24 inches is Childs play). It's not fun mike. It's cold, wet, traffic everywhere, dark all day sometimes because of clouds, and retarded icy windshields at 5 am when you need to be into work in 20 minutes
