Ok, who ever was over at the PTO (patent & trademark office) that approved this should be fired. You can't trademark a word already in common use.

This will get struck down in court, ESPECIALLY if one of the game developers that was using Candy in their game name before this trademark was issued. Unfortunately that costs a lot of money.

King.com also is going after the Indie game The Banner Saga because they also want a trademark on Saga. I think its crazy they are taking all of these steps to stop copycats and rip offs, yet, as stated in the video, its a reskin of Bejeweled.

Shouldn't be too hard to fight that claim if they get the patent and take the devs to court. The 10-game SaGa series from Square Enix shows a lot of precedent of King.com not having exclusive rights to that name.
