Normally I prefer phone calls; though as of late I've been conversing more via text (I have a group project with 2 other people).
My data usage is fairly low too; occasionally I'll Google something on my phone or pull up a YouTube video, but that's about it.

I have to say there are some things that texting was made for. I pretty much replace all of my 1 minute phone calls with texting now. That being said, I pretty much hate talking on the phone. I'm a talk in person kind of guy.
